Firefyter-EmtDo we have this on the trailer with the VIN ?

All trailers appear to be admissible as they are cited on Transport Canada s
 > List of Vehicles Admissible form the United States as admissible in Section
 > 2 - General, revised August 2002. This vehicle must bear a Statement of
 > Compliance label affixed by the Original Equipment Manufacturer stating that
 > " the vehicle as manufactured to comply with all US federal emission, bumper
 > and safety standards on the date of manufacturer" .

Importing is a lot more complicated and costly then I thought, sighhhhh. I am trying to sort out the mess  right now ........

 What is the problem

I spoke with the manager of the place where the PU will have to undergo a federal inspection, and mentioned that the hitch has been modified. He said, any structural modification makes the units inadmissable. I jokingly said, maybe I should t have mentioned it, and he said that any federal inspection agency would be able to figure out modifications to the frame, etc. I am going to go and talk with MTO (Where they register and give licenses for all vehicles) and get their opinion on it. And go to another inspection station as well.

P.S. This is not helping my blood pressure at all [>:]

 birolBirol...

It seems like when Lee made the hitch modification, he did it quite professionally AND the whole thing was repainted black to match what the original looked like.  If I were you, I wouldn t ever mention it to inspectors and I ll bet they won t mention it either.  Anyway, Lee and Andrea said they would take it back, no problem if it ended up that you couldn t get it across the border.

I know, it looks very proefssionaly done, but if they refuse permission, I will be out of pocket for a lot of money already (close to 700  which is not refundable). I am trying to make up my mind before proceeding any further. [&:]

birolI m so sorry, I know you were really looking forward to the PU.
