Hi Everybody,
I hope you all didn't go thru too many attemps to get here. I found this new hosting company as a result of the problems we were having several months ago. Many thanks to Cooncreeker for refering her son-in-law to us, his services are turning out to be just what we needed.

We finally moved off of the Windows NT box that we were on for years and on to a Unix box that is supposed to be bullet proof. By the way, the old Windows box was experiencing ASP errors today and that was with no traffic.

I'd like to make other change to the boards but I want your input. I think we have way too many forums and would to kill about half of them. Once we have everything moved from the old host we'll set things up so free forums like the  Campground Reviews & Classifeds can only be accessed thru the homepage. I also want to keep the Avitars enabled.

What do you think? Post your comments here:

I prefer the General Discussion, Mr Fix-it and the Bargain Hunter's Emporium forums.    I usually don't check much else.

I like Avatars, and would put one with my name if I could figure out how to crop one to look good and still be small enough for the avatar requirements!

I think it would be a good idea to compress some of the forums.  My favorite include General, Campfire, Mr Fix-It, Bargin Hunter, & Campground Reviews.

So far, I love the new software -- except that we lost the first post of every topic.  Sure hope that they come back.

I agree that some of the topics can be combined or even deleted.

Product Reviews
doesn't seem to have a lot of activity - just letting it combine with either general or campfire - some can just ask for an opinion or it someone really recommends a product, they can just post it under there.  The new software still has a "search" feature which will help.

If a club has a website (ie GLPUC) maybe just leave as a link with a message to say "click here to be directed to the website for further discussion".  Their activity has only been on their site - they do not post anything here anyway:(

I don't know about the other clubs.

I know awhile ago, it was mentioned about the CG Review section really wasn't used much either.  What if you just had each state listed with a link to websites that show CG's in that state and if someone wants an opinion, they can ask in "general".  There are a lot of sites already out there.  You could also just list CG's websites by state or list websites that are general and you can click on the area you are looking for..

Here's several I have..

Just to name a few -- some of these are not great sites, but maybe they could be weeded out.

Just my 2 cents - for what it's worth :D

I agree with Nancy on the Product Reviews not getting much activity, along with the Bargain Hunters.  Maybe combine the 2. They seem to go together well.  Even being slow the reviews are nice to have.

Seeing as we lost most of the polls, eliminate that section and let the polls be placed in which ever forum fits the topic of the poll.

Keep the clubs that are active here, offer links to the rest that are not active.

I do like the Avatars, and the ability to insert files.  The change in software is a great improvement.

I know many of us would love to see something more functional for the Fireside Chat, unless it can work better with the new server. Continually getting bumped and losing posts made the chatroom frustrating to use.

Thanks for asking for our input :)

Here's a list of the forums I use the most...

General
Mr. Fix It
Hybrid Forum
Bargain Hunters Emporium
Manufacturer Forum -- Viking
Mid Atlantic (campground reviews)
North Atlantic (campground reviews)

I've used others, but these are the essential ones for me.
