I found this information and re-arranged it, trying to sort a little. If anyone know that the information DOES NOT work, or has other information, please email me and I'll be happy to update this post to reflect the changes.

Due to size limitations, I have to break this into 2 posts.

Kitchen:

Tenderize meat. Soak in vinegar over night.

Boil better eggs. Add 2 tablespoons water before boiling eggs. Keeps them from cracking.

Add a spoonful of vinegar to cooking water to make cauliflower white and clean.

Storing cheese: keep it fresh longer by wrapping it in a vinegar-soaked cloth and keeping it in a sealed container.

Make your catsup and other condiments last long by adding vinegar.

Wipe jars of preserves and canned food with vinegar to prevent mold-producing bacteria.

Add a tablespoon of vinegar to fruit gelatin to hold it firm.

Add a spoonful of vinegar when cooking fruit to improve the flavor.

Soak fish in vinegar and water before cooking for a tender, sweeter taste.

Add vinegar to boiling ham to improve flavor and cut salty taste.

Preserve peppers: put freshly picked peppers in a sterilized jar and finish filling with boiling vinegar.

Olives and pimentos will keep indefinitely if covered with vinegar and refrigerated.

For a shiny crust on homemade bread and rolls: just before they have finished baking, take them out, brush crusts with vinegar, return to oven to finish baking.

Homemade sour cream: blend together 1 cup cottage cheese, 1/4 cup skim milk and 1 tsp. vinegar.

Add 1 tsp. vinegar to cooking water for fluffier rice.

For fluffy meringue: beat 3 egg whites with a teaspoon of vinegar.

Pie crust: add 1 tablespoon vinegar to your pastry recipe for an exceptional crust.

Eliminate onion odor. Rub on your fingers before and after slicing.

We found this extremely helpful when camping at Hamonassett State Park this summer....my niece got stung by a good sized jelly fish and the vinegar neutralized the sting almost right away (we went through 2 bottles)..

Vinegar added to a tepid bath will reduce fever also.

I have always added vinegar to my poached or boiled eggs. It works really well.

I don't know if this one was on the list or not but if you soak your new dark clothes in a washer full of water and a cup of vinegar the dye sets in and will not run when you wash it.

Run a half cup of vinegar through your coffee pot once a month too! This will stop that build up and keep things running smoothly.

I also, use it in the dishwasher. You can add to the final rinse if you are around and the glasses will sparkle.

I also use white vinegar to remove hard water build-up from shower heads.  Just soak the clogged shower head in a bowl of vinegar and it will reopen the little holes that get clogged from the minerals in the water supply.

I just did this last week, and my DH got into he shower the next morning and said "Hey, did you notice the shower seems to have more water running through it?" I love that guy! :)

One other item is that vinegar is a better disinfectant for cutting boards.

after painting a room! if you soak a couple of sponges in vinegar and leave them in a bowl, it will take the paint odor out faster, same with fish odors!
