We take a TV on longer trips, but usually only for the drive.  We have had the TV in the PU on 3 trips. :)

Gone-Camping

I'll be the first to confess, I take one ALL the time. That doesn't mean I use it all the time, but since it stays in the camper, it's always there. I also have dual battery set-up and an inverter, and will use it even when dry camping for short duration to get news & weather.

Now that I have the Hybrid, I'm buying a bigger one. Yes, bigger...with built-in DVD player! I'm not much of a TV watching person, but the kids would probably shrivel up and die without it or their playstation! Hey, it keeps them quiet on rainy days!!! ;)

I confess :o, we take a small battery operated TV during hockey playoffs. Other than that no TV during the rest of our trips.

We take a TV when we stay at full hookup sites.  However, most of the time we stay at dry campgrounds.

DW would like to but I think it's more hassle then it's worth in a PU.  Have promised her a TV when we get our "5'er".  Until then, I'd just as soon not.

We take ours  on every trip, my kids get up real early and it's nice to catch a few extra winks while they are watching cartoons...

Only time I have ever taken a tv along is during football season.  I doubt that will change once I'm camping in the pu next year.  I'd rather watch a campfire any day.  And, enjoy conversation (even Fluff!) around that fire.   ;)   I want to go camping!

Never take one.

Which is not the same as saying I won't let the kids wander over to the neighbors'  and watch their TV when we're group camping! :D

We dont watch a whole lot of tv,but we do enjoy watching some.We bring the tv/vcr combo with us about half of the time.Probably watched 3 hrs. of tv,and 8 hrs. of video all of last year while camping. That's out of around 30 days of camping.

We originally bought our 12V tv/vcr for long *driving* trips, but it has worked out well at places with electrical hookups (IOW: rallies). The kids can all get together for some quiet time (yeah, right) while the adults can swap lies-- er... chat around the campfire. ;)

abbear

Nope - if I need entertainment I just watch everyone else :D

We have always had a 9 inch tv for the car and then moved it into the popup when set up, now the van has a built in tv so the 9 inch travels in the popup.  We use it for tapes mostly unless the campground has cable then we watch the morning news (weather) sometimes.

We also take a PS2, It works good for Monopoly, we can save the game, and start right where we left it. Don't have to mess with all the cards, and takes little room. After the campfire, it's kinda nice. Can't watch any news (no reception) but an occasional movie or game.

We got a tv/dvd combo at Costco. It's operated on 110v or 12v. We don't always use it. So far we've mostly watched movies.

We take our DVD/TV for long car trips & most camping trips.  It's nice for wind-down time, especially if it's too rainy for a campfire, and also for that early morning time when the kids are up but we aren't.  I try not to let them use it too much, but it can be quite handy.
