Our trip up north to deer hunt has been sooo much fun, but I came home today anyway, just because it was wet and damp (I know, essentially the same thing) and I was beginning to get pretty achey.  The temps were not bad, mostly 30's and 40's, today was going to get warmer.   But, DH did get a nice sized deer on Monday, and will be staying till Saturday, so he may get another one.   He took the one he got to a processor up there, because it was too warm to let it hang.   If he gets another, we may just process it ourselves, as we usually do.
Our friends that came with us have a 35 ft TT, and at first I was kinda jealous when they pulled it in and got comfy with their 2 bedrooms, and bathroom with shower, and big tv, vcr, microwave, fridge and full sized oven.   But, unfortunately, they had some generator problems, and had no power to speak of.   We ended up running a cord to our generator, so that they could at least have heat and light, but then that was pretty much all we could do as well.   It's amazing that when you don't have a lot of options, you can be happy as can be without all the gadgets.   We decided not to run any television, and spent lots of time playing rummy and reading and just talking.
The new converter we had put in did its job just fine, and both of us took turns charging and using batteries so that the drain on the generator wouldn't be so bad, and that worked fine.   They stayed with us from Friday thru Tuesday, and we did plenty of hanging around the fire, and eating lots of good camping food.   After DH brings the camper home, we'll open it back up in the driveway for a thorough cleaning, then pop it down for the winter.   I guess maybe now I'll have to say that camping season is over for us.   Oh well, there will always be more.

Welcome home. :)    It sounds like you had a nice trip.  Good luck to your husband on the second deer. :)

It sounds like you had a great time.  I remember the times I spent processing the deer meat in a small kitchen.  It has gotten kind of hard for me to do as the old bones get older.  I found a good meat processing plant not far away and they do an excellent job.  Now get back on this board.  Stuff has happened while you were away.:D

Don't worry sis, I'll stop over to help finish processing the deer after they become "cooked" products!
While your friends couldn't run their microwave or tv, they should have been able to run everything which came with their trailer on propane and a 12-volt battery. Our furnace, fridge, water heater, lights, stereo, etc. don't require 120v.

But, I know it's easy to get accustomed to microwave and toaster oven cooking. Yes, I certainly do know! :(
