.I can't wait!!!!! We only have 4 more days until it's camp time! :)
We are going to take the camper down to Lake Texana SP (30 min from home) on Tuesday afternoon so we can get a good spot. I want to spend the night there and get up early and come back home to get ready for work Wednesday morning. I teach school and we get out at noon on Wednesday (Hurray) then its back to camp! :D
We plan to have Thanksgiving there as my brother and his family are camping in their Hybrid, my SIL and her family will be there in their 5th WTT and my Mom is coming to visit.. It should be a blast.
The weather is supposed to be good. 45- 70 so lets hope. I really need this "mini vacation".
I'll take some pics to share with all

Happy Thanksgiving!

Hi Starryart,

DW and I are also headed out for a Thanksgiving trip to Daingerfield State Park in the piney woods of East Texas. We don't get to leave until Wednesday afternoon, but we're really looking forward to it! We're doing the whole dinner down at the campsite. Have a great trip!

Bearnkat,
Won't it be great! Can't wait to hear the hoot owls. Take some pics too and we'll compare parks.
How /are you cooking a turkey?
We are doing a brisket on Thursday, but having turkey at my aunts house on saturday. YUM

If you have camped on Thanksgiving before, are the campgrounds usually very busy or full?  I hear some say the places they stayed were nearly full.  We usually don't go camping during the Holidays because we don't like crowds and traffic during those times.

We are headed to San Simeon, SP (California) for Thanksgiving.  We will leave after the kids get out of school on Wednesday and spend two nights in San Simeon before headed up the PCH to Monterey.  Should be a great trip!  Last year we went to Zion NP which was awesome!

Luv2Camp

We will be leaving on Wednesday to go to Smith Mountain Lake in VA. We are no longer will be camping in our pop-up. We bought a 28 ft TT. and will be taking the new trailer.
I will now have a small oven to cook in. Since our daughters live out of state we will camping just us and our 4 legged girls.
Safe traveling for all and a Blessed Holiday.

B-Flat, Yes the park we go to is going to be full but we need this time out. Besides we try to pick one of the more isolated spots and there are some at our park with bushes and trees to separate us from the others. It ain't bad!
I can't wait!

I wish I were going.  I love to cook and I have never had a Thanksgiving in a campground.....maybe next year.  I would really enjoy doing the big feast at the campground.  Hey, ya gotta eat anyway! Who said it would be too much trouble.  Not me!

oooooooooooo  I'm so jealous!!!  :>  Hope all of you camping have terrific weather and wonderful food!

I would love to camp for Thanksgiving and do my Dinner outdoors.  I think most of the kids and their families would enjoy it, but my Mother in Law wouldn't come and if she didn't eat with us, she'd be alone....so...once again I'll cook for everyone at our house.  Oh well...it is always fun to have everyone together.

Camping Coxes

I'm still working on DH to get him to agree to go out Friday.  We're supposed to have some work done on our van (not our TV fortunately) so we were going to have to be here, but now that's questionable, so I want to go!  We had to miss the SCCampers outing two weeks ago, so this should be my raincheck!  If everyone thinks real hard, maybe he'll get the message telepathically!  I even offered to take our Thanksgiving leftovers so he won't have to cook all weekend!  I'll let you know how I do.

It didn't work.  We stayed home all weekend.  I reminded him we should be camping several times.     Guess I have to wait until after Christmas with the SCCampers, unless he figures a way to get out of that one.
