When this happened to me in the early days of PUX, Dean handled it very swiftly and tactfully.   I really appreciated that, as I had no idea what purpose someone would have for posting under my screen name.   (and it's pretty obvious that no one else would have ever thought to use the one I use)   The team over at IRV2 was just as diligent in taking care of the problem over there.   As NightOwl says, it doesn't matter who it was, or why, just that we should all be aware that these kids of things can happen, and we should be alert.This thread is a good wakeup call for us on that topic.

That's one of the things I don't miss on this board....the ability to troll at will using any made up name you desire. When you look at hundreds of screwball names, on other sites, with no email or posts attached to them, you just know it's one of the trolls preparing for its next attack on someone or readying to stir up some life by conversing with itself. Of course, those who haven't been through it don't know how viscious these clowns can be and the bleeding hearts will always forgive them their transgressions. LOL

I, too, remember the attacks on NightOwl on the previous board, and applaud NightOwl's response to this slimeball. Kinda takes all the fun out of a troll's actions when they are met with a positive response.

Hi everyone, thanks for the encouragement about all this.  I truly appreciate the kind words and support.

But I think now we have covered the subject pretty fully and have made novices aware that this kind of thing can happen and that there is an appropriate way to deal with it when mods and adminstrators get involved right away.

To make sure that this thread wont take a less positive direction in the future  and will  pass quickly  into history, I am going to ask to have it locked as soon as possible.

NO PERMANENT HARM WAS DONE, and I dont want anything ugly to come out of this episode.
