For those who braved the crowds, parking lots and long lines of the cash registers, please let us know what real bargains you found.  Also let us know if it was really worth it to get out that day. Did you find the items that were advertised?  What was the best bargain you found?  I stayed home but just want to hear about your experiences.

No Bargains for me!  I was beach camping at the time!  It was worth missing the steals!

I don't enjoy crowds, but DH was home that morning so I decided to brave it and headed to Kohl's around 7:30, as I had done the previous year or two. I spent a little over $200 and got some tremendous bargains, and made it through most of my list, except for my kid's PS2 games and toys. I waited in line for 10-15 minutes, and everyone was in a good mood, so it was a piece of cake. Kohl's had also sent out a 15% off coupon to charge customers that I was able to use that day, and they gave out one $10 Kohl's cash certificate for each $50 spent (so I got $40) to be used during the next week, which I used to buy a comforter set for my son, that was already marked down 50%. I love that store - they treat their customers (especially those with a Kohl's charge) better than any other store around here, and the employees are friendly and intelligent - they don't hire idiots.

Last year was the first year that I ever ventured out on Black Friday, and I got just about everything bought and had great deal also.  This year, I couldnt go for several reasons -- no $$$$ (DH unemployed) and I had to work 1/2 day for the first time since ???? -- well, I don't think I have ever had to work the day after Thanksgiving EVER!

For those who did go, I sure hope you got everything you wanted and at great prices:XMas

I didn't venture out on Black Friday, but the next day I lazily headed out at about 11 a.m. and asked the Wal-Mart closest to my house if they happened to have any of the Special Buy digital cameras left as I want to get a couple of cheaper models for my daughters for Christmas.  She said they sold out but she called another Wal-Mart that just happened to have come across 17 that they forgot to take out of the back room the day before.  Mwahahaha - and I didn't have to deal with crowds!!!  ;)

I heard a story today about a woman who got trampled in a Wal-Mart in FL during that crazy shopping day.  I never go out the day after.  Can you imagine daring that with four kids in tow!?? :J

We went to Staples and got free (after rebate) Norton Interned Security, a calculator, and a CD label and cover maker.  For $5 I got a web cam and for $20 a 128MB Compact Flash card for the camera. :)

At Wal-Mart a DVD player for $30. :p

UPDATE:  That Wal-Mart woman, DH told me last night that Wal-Mart reported to the press that they would take her claim as seriously as the other 10 claims she has against them!     I guess she's also collecting Workers Comp from them too.   Somehow the pity I felt is a little lessened!

My sister and I ventured out, not to Walmart though and got some really good bargins. We started out around 6:30am and shopped the in the same store until one. We had front row parking. We had the best time. It was a day I will always cherish. It was a tradition with our mom, sister and I, but Mom is back home in MN recouping from dental work. We didn't have the big crowds until around noon. Most of the time we were second in line at the registers, not bad. So no complaints here. DH and my nephew went to Fry's Electronics and had to deal with the crowds but they got their deals.

Nope, :J   I was in line at staples waiting for it to open.  When I got to Wal-Mart there wasn't a line, except for getting a shopping cart.  I went outside to get a cart and the lady that gave me her cart told me that she tried to buy 2 of the DVD players, but they would only let her get one.  The second one was sitting a register 2.  I went to register 2 and asked for the DVD player.  That is how I was able to get one for $30.  :XMas

OK.  Sounds like you have a solid alibi with that dated receipt from Staples - you're off the hook!  ;)

How about a computer (no monitor) for $200, after rebate, at Best Buy?  Now I can "talk" even faster.  :D
