We are leaving Saturday 12/20 for Fort Wilderness.  Although we have camped there many times, this is the first time we have gone over the Christmas holidays.  I was wondering what to expect.

Thanks.

Christmas is one of the busiest...  if not the busiest, times of the year for the Majic Kingdom.

I agree the Christmas season is busy - That's why they have "Holiday" pricing.

Staying at FW you wil have access to the parks 1 hour earlier each day than the general public (one park each day, they will give you a schedule when you check in).  I suggest you use this time to ride the popular rides.

Depending on the closing time of the parks, I generally go in the morning for a few hours, then back to FW for the middle of the day.  I return to the parks in the evening as it begins to slow don a little; plus you have fireworks at night.

If you plan on any of the dinner shows like the Hoop De Dop, make reservations - they sell out early.

Thanks all.  I had to fly home to work this week.  Left the rest of the family in Florida.  We had a great time.  Everyone decorates their camp sites (including us) and the campground is very pretty at night.  There are many Christmas/Holiday themed shows and parades that are nicely done, and well worth seeing.  We were there this past August and although there seems to be more people everyplace, I think Disney is very good at crowd control because we have not noticed any difference in wait times while in the parks.  I am flying back on 12/31 to spend New Year's eve with my family.  We have 10:30 dinner reservations at the German pavilian in Epcot.

Have a Happy Holiday!

What a great idea!!!

I wonder if I could get the DW to tow the pop up to FW and I just meet her there.  Then, she could drive it back.

WOW, I could really expand my vacation that way. :D

tim, are you trying to get out of camping or working?:D   I love your Disney website.  I nominate you for the only one in America or the world who has been to Fort Wilderness the most.  You should apply to be included in the Guiness Book of Records.  How much money have you spent so far?;)

Actually, I have only stayed at FW around 6 times.  Most of my trips were when i was younger and uninformed.  I actually thought that I needed a hotel to be happy :D

I would be afraid to think how much money I have donated to them over the years.
