need a Tampa cg recommendation

Headed there this Sat to look at a conversion van. 8 hr round trip drive in 1 day doesn't sound appealing, but a quickie overnight stay does!  Any suggestions?

Unless something has drastically changed, don't stop at Hillsborough River State Park.  Nice place to visit during the day for a canoe ride.  The park is old and in desparate need of rebuilding.  Worst place I've ever been to.  I've got pics online, along with a detailed review:

I've talked with others since that have stayed there, not much has changed according to them.

I don't know of much else in that same area.  However, since you're going to Tampa, treat yourself to an excellent steak: http://www.bernssteakhouse.com/  Great place!  Make sure to get the kitchen tour and wine cellar tour if you go.

Berns used to be my parents favorite place to eat.  My father used to complain that though the steaks were great, the ambiance made it so that it was hard to tell if you were cutting you steak or your tie.

The Branch Ranch is/was a WONDERFUL Place to eat also.

We used to camp at Croom, when they still ahd camping, that was outside of Brooksville, they had a commercial campground I think it was called Silver Lake on the other side of the expressway from Croom.
