I have reserved the pavilion at the campground for Saturday night, so we can have a pot luck dinner and sit around and talk afterward.  If you know what you want to bring please post it here, so we get a variety of foods. :)

Too soon to tell what Chef Dave & Sharon will bring.  Gotta put my thinking cap on.  I like the unusual & different.  Caution - no picky eaters at my pot. only the culinary adventuresome need approach.:p

I love an adventuresome culinary experience, so I guess you are talkin' to me!:D

You are scaring me now.  I am faint of stomach.  Really I am. :p

MTNDAVE

OK, OK....I'll kick it DOWN a notch or two.  Didn't mean to twist any bellies.  Just testing the waters a bit.  :rolleyes:

Mrs. MtnDave also toned me down.  I kinda get carried away sometimes.  Must be the compulsive in me.

Seriously, since we don't know everyones particulars we'll make sure it's not too spicy, or alive and crawling.

I am glad your food will not be crawling around on the plates.  Crawling food can make a real mess sometimes. :p

With the trip less than 2 weeks away I thought it was time to bump this back to the top.

When Copcarguy was at the campground he said the food in the restaurant was good and cheap.   :)   We may try out their food for a meal.

MTNDAVE

Yup.....the clock is ticking a bit louder this week.  PU is back from shop and it's Spring tune-up and new sneakers.  Saturday I opened it up for the first time this year, passed inspection with flying colors and loaded everything back in.  We are now OFFICALLY ready to hook-up and camp !!!!!

I also recall the resteraunt and I think on Friday we are going to be LAZY campers too and let someone else do the cooking and clean-up.  Great Idea.

Tracy, are we still on for the Pavilion and the Pot Luck thing?  How many bellies are you counting now?  There are 2 of us.  Bouncing around a couple of ideas on food to bring but not decided yet.

Copcarguy and I are talking about bringing the bikes if the weather is good and things dry out.  If it is nice and well dried out enough we may just take a tour back to a the Rauch Gap ghost town (about 3-1/2 mile ride each way - nice level Rails-to-Trails path).  Anybody else interested?

If not good enough to ride we may just do some fishing or hiking across the road in the State park.

Probably gonna leave the mountain about 1:00pm and arrive before 3:00pm.

See ya all there.

I will have to check and see if we can still the pavilion.

There will four in my PU for the weekend. :)

MTNDAVE

We are arriving Friday afternoon and as others are doing the "LAZY CAMPER BUFFET" on Friday night. :)  What a great idea.

Unless we have downpours of rain on Sat. we will not be going to Cabela's.  Been there before and if you are going on Sat. be there when the door opens.  It gets to be like the mall at Christmas within a few short hours.  450,000 sq. ft. of Wall to Wall humankind.  But then again we only live an hour from Cabela's so we can go anytime.  If you haven't been you gotta see this place !!!!!

If the weather is anywhere near what this weekend was like we will be bringing our bikes and heading back the Gold Mine Bike Trail to the ghost town of Rauch Gap to explore and and Geocahe.  I will have lots of history, old pics and maps with me and of course my trusty GPS.  All are welcome to join us.  Copcarguy....you guys still going with us?  Of course if it rains........:eek:

Pot luck on Sat. nite.  Tracy, will we still be using the Pavalion?
I'm not sure of the current head count, anybody really know for sure?  If it's not a lot of people maybe we don't even need the Pavilion and can just group around a campsite.

Still figuring what we will be bringing for Pot Luck.  Depends on how many bellies to feed and what else is already coming.  Last I heard it was:
* tlhdoc - meatballs
* franks and beans - copcarguy
* and ?????

Anyway......we are more than READY to get the camping season started.

PS ---- since there are a couple scattered threads on this trip I'm gonna cut & past this to all of them to bring them to the top.
