Before we drive an hour to look at one just wondering if anybody has a Jayco Eagle.  The salesman who was very helpful (not) at first couldn't even tell me what year it was.  All he said was a 95-or 96 Eagle 6.  I'm assuming that means it sleeps 6 people.  I'm completely unfamiliar with Jaycos.  Any info will be a big help.  Thanks

I have a Jayco Jay 1207, which is just like the Eagle.  Mine sleeps, they say nine, but really 7.  It is a 12 ft box.  Let us know what happens.:)

We have a 1999 Jayco Qwest 10, which actually has the Eagle decals on the 10' box. The Qwest line was brought out (I'd Guess!) as an entry level pop-up. In 99, it listed for about $4,500.00, we got it for $3,500.00, but added Front Stabilizers, Furnace, Battery, etc. which brought the cost right back up to a little over $4,000.00.
We have been very happy with our Jayco Qwest! It has held up well and I look forward to camping in it for several more years before I decide whether to go over to the "dark side" or stick with a PU!
I would be more concerned about the dealer than I would the trailer!!!
Good Luck!

I have a '95 Jayco Eagle 8 that I purchased used from a RV dealership two years ago.  It was in very good shape & I liked that at the time it did not have an A/C and refrigetator.  I was afraid that those items would drive the price up and may have mechanical troubles.  We have been very pleased with the camper.  Since we purchased it, I have added several modifications, including an A/C.  I have photos of our camper at http://community.webshots.com/user/kaaljonesfamily.

I really like our Jayco product and have recieved good help from our local Jayco dealer http://terrellcampingcenter.com

If you go to see this camper, please check the canvas, lift system, tires, and look/smell for mildew.  If there is anything wrong with this one unit, don't accept it and keep looking.

I hope this helps & good luck!

We started out with a 95 Eagle 10 and loved it! Not one problem.

What kind of Popup do you have now, Dave?  Inquiring minds want to know.;)  And, yes, you can put in a disclaimer of some kind.

I have a 2000 Palomino Mustang SC. Too big for me.  I'm want a smaller unit with a front trunk.  The president of a pop up mfg company once told me - " a pop up is just a wooden box that follows your car" - I agree. I'm looking for a good deal, I don't care about the brand.

Actually Dave, those "wooden boxes" are more like a "Rolling Hilton" on wheels with all the comforts that we wish to take with us.  Some want the biggest and best popup while others just want a bed off the ground.  I think less is more.  I camp without a TV (television) and microwave because I don't need them.  Others want to take all their toys.  No matter what, it's still camping.:)

I agree about the benifit of simple camping.  That is why I love my 8' camper.  It is very easy to set up and close down.  We enjoy being able to both dry camp and stay in a full service campground.

We have a 99 Jayco Eagle 12UDK. We bought it new and love this pop-up. Hope you find it's what you want!

We went and looked at the Jayco.  It was the same size as our viking and we wanted something bigger.  Also it didn't have a furnace and we need one for the kids.
