Of all your trips what was the most that stands out for you??  No matter how simple the place or fantastic...

Our favorite was actually at a KOA in Illinois!!  We were traveling across country and had stopped there. The campground was settled in the middle of farmland and had a beautiful stream running through it and little wooden bridges for walking across.  My kids would get their fishing poles and sit there with their feet dangling catching these little sunfish!!  At night as we sat by our campfire we looked off into the farmfield and saw hundreds of fireflies lighting up the sky!!  Never ever saw so many.  It was so restful and pretty that we stayed there for a couple of days.   There's so many parts of our country tucked away that are just so sweet and simple.

Ummm, any trip without the kids in tow tends to be memorable!!! :D

Actually, my most memorable one was before we bought the first PU, we were tent camping (without the kids I might add) on an east coast run. Stayed at Killens Pond SP in Delware the first night out, then took our time heading north, spending the second night at Kettletown SP in Conn. If I remember correctly, we were following up on the heels of a Hurricane, so we just couldn't make real good time. We were in the overflow area as they were full, we arrived late at night, and they didn't want to turn us away. We (DGF & I) were totally alone in that overflow area, just beside a gushing river. Next day we were on the road again, stopping to visit with family in a couple of places before finally finding our way to Blackwoods Campground in Acadia National Park. We had reservations there, and had wonderful campsite...had a huge boulder right in the middle of site. We stayed there for 3 nights/4 days, then headed south, but only went as far as Poland Springs Maine, where we spent a couple nights in my Uncle's cabin on the lake. I remember the second night at the cabin, as that's when the airliner went down in Long Island Sound....we left the next day and drove all the way back to Viriginia.

Come to think of it, that's the last time I had a full weeks vacation!!!! :D

Our first camping trip with our pop-up is my favorite.  We purchased it used about 1 & 1/2 years ago and my son & I went on our first trip to a campground near our home.  My wife & daughter came by to see our new camper & liked it.  My parents & my sister's family came by to check it out.  Everyone was impressed & I was happy that after such a long search, we had found for us the perfect camper.

We have since had many fun, but short trips.  I hope we can go for some longer trips this year.  We are planning our first trip to Myrtle Beach this summer (thank goodness I did decide to install an A/C).  I hope that "our favorite" trip will keep changing as we camp more and more.

The most favorite camping trip was at Boone KOA.  We stayed there over July 4th, silly us did not bring blankets.  Well the next morning we were off to a local department store to buy some, it gets pretty chilly at night in the mountains.  We visited Grandfather Mountain, Tweetsie Railroad, and Linville Cavarens.  Our oldest daughter still talks about the blind fish in Linville Cavarens, and she was only 4 or 5 at the time.  The best part was that it was not too hot and we could really enjoy ourselves.  This was also in our first popup.

Hmmmm, hard question!  It was probably the bluegrass festival trip when we camped at Happy Holiday RV park and campground in Cherokee.  Or, Myrtle Beach Travel Park with the kids.  Or, maybe it was the one to the Denton Farm park.  Naw, It had to be the one with the Carolina Pop Up Campers group campout at Jordan Lake Crosswinds B Loop. Well, you get the idea. :D  :J   I think plenty of them stand out and it would be hard to choose which one stands out the most.

That IS a hard question!!  In the most recent era of my life (ah, that would be middle-age), I think my favorite trip was in the middle of Idaho, after hours and hours of dirt road with a borrowed popup.  We ended up at a little campground bordering a pretty good sized stream.  It was beautiful there, and when it got hot during the middle of the day, we sat in the stream in camping chairs, dangled our feet and just totally relaxed.  At night you could hear the wind in the pines and enjoy the lingering campfire smoke on the breeze.  That was the trip where I decided that I COULD switch from tent camping to a popup and still enjoy camping.  Before that I would never have thought it would work for me....

Every camping trip is my favorite... But seriously,  one of my favorites would have to be a trip we took down to Baja, Mexico. We camped for a couple days at Laguna Guerro Negro. The whales and their babies were still there, and we got to go out on the pangas to see them. We got so close that we actually got to pet them. It was awesome, (for lack of any better expression!). One of the whales actually dragged our boat along for a while. The campground was very primative, no water or electric. The outhouses were really bad, luckily we brought a shovel. But the campsites were big, it was at the end of the "season", so fairly uncrowded and at night, well you felt like you were in the middle of nowhere! The stars were amazing. It was a trip to remember...

2 years ago we bit the bullet and antied up for a lakefront site with hook ups at one of our favourite campgrounds near Bracebridge ON. We spent 10 days in our little part of heaven. We set the PU so that we could unzip the front and watch the lake from the bunks. You walked out of the AAR past the fire pit and a few more steps into the lake. The kids had a blast paddling around in the lake. Mom got on the air mattrees and floated while dad paddled around in the inflatable dingy. What a trip!!! Too bad we had to go home.

Not sure about this, but I think my favorite is still the 2002 Eastern Rally in Townsend, TN. Got to personally meet lots of great folks from PUT!

Colter Bay campground in Teton NP in Wyoming.  We got there on a Monday in May and the campground only had a handful of people there.  What an amazing place.  Unbelievable scenery, wildlife all over the place and terrific people.  Spent 2 weeks there and up the road in Yellowstone.

Limited to just 1?!!!    No way!

I guess my favorite trip was going to Yellowstone.  It's such a fabulous park that's so different from anything in Florida.  It really ruined several subsequent local camping trips.  Once you go to a place like that, it's hard to go to a regular campground.  Definitely want to go back again someday.  We'll have to wait a couple of years until the boys are old enough for such a long trek.

The next favorite would have to be camping at Long Key State Park.  Each campsite is right on the ocean, literally!  We go swimming, kayaking, fishing, and lobstering each day.  We're going again in July.  Pics of two trips posted on my website.  Warning, if you plan on going to this campsite, get reservations WAY in advance.

I would say it's a tie, between 9 days at Hermit Island in Maine eating the best lobster and steamed clams cooked over a campfire while listening to the waves crashing on the beach! OR 4 days at Umbagog Lake State Park, kayaking with Moose, Bald Eagles, Osprey, and Loons each day!

It will always be:

the one I'm about to go on!

Larry I was thinking this as I was reading down the page..
Then to see your response..
I was thinking of all the places we have camped ,Townsend was the best trip over all.. I had the whole family which won't be for much longer as the oldest turns 20 this year and has only 2 more years of school and then she will be off.
The other 2 are getttng older each day and wanting to do more of their ON thing as I hear it from the 14 year old.
BUT back to the story....
Townsend was nice and I got to meet so many folks here, and other sites now..
Meeting Dave the "CULT" leader............
Having a great time each time the group was together.. AND the POT LUCK.. better than a church homecoming.. Tubing in the river.. Watching my NO FEAR son jump off the rocks at the "Y", Spending time around various campfires with all of you, Cades Cove trip in the wagons after the rain storm we had that day..
This trip to the 2002 Eastern Pop Up Rally and vacation was much better than last years trip to the beach.. And I love the BEACH, but that was the trip from h**l. Thunder STORMS, tornado's, RAIN AND MORE RAIN>>>and then some more RAIN..
This will be my favorite for the time being until the next camping trip comes along. Who knows the next might just be the best. BUT right now this is it..

I think our favorite camping place continues to be a lake-front campsite on Raystown Lake in PA.  Our camper is set up on the hill.  You walk down ten steps to the dining area -- and closer to the lake.  We just sit and relax while the kids splash in the water or better yet, climb in our boat and go to a secluded cove where we can swim and hang out in the peaceful water all day long.  We take a break from swimming and have lunch in the boat. The only thing better than meal while camping is a picnic lunch on our boat after swimming for hours.

Ah... Can't wait until our next trip to Raystown in August!  Of course, now our infant will be walking and she'll have us running instead of resting!  We can't WAIT!
