We just bought a Novaform Memory Bed Topper that is 2 inches thick.   It was vacuum sealed so when we unwrapped it, it seemed pretty thin...stupid question I know, but...should I just leave it on the bed for a couple of hours to see if it plumps up, is that what they do and is it ok to put under a regular mattress pad or should it just go directly under the sheets.

I'm hoping the memory foam will help me sleep better and wake up feeling less achy every morning!

It seems to me that there was a discussion a couple of years ago as to where the foam should be placed.  Some preferred it directly on top of the mattress and then placed a sheet on top of the foam.  Others wanted a pad over the foam.  Why not try it each way to see which works the best for you.  Were there any instructions in the packaging?  If not pleased with the thickness or not as advertised you should be able to take it back if it has not been used just yet.

I have one for my camper and it is suppose to go on top of the mattress.  The memory foam itself is what makes for a wonderful nights sleep.  I have a mattress cover on mine and then sheets.  I just love it.

ahhh...I slept well last night!!  I put a mattress pad over it and it was very comfortable, hubby wasn't so sure yet...except I woke up boiling hot, so either that's a life thing  :J  or these retain body heat a bit???  We'll see how tonight's sleep is.  I know I didn't toss and turn as much.

It would seem that 2" of memory foam would have good insulating qualities.  That might account for the heat retention or buildup.

Yup...time to switch out of flannel jammies!!  :)   I have to say I am sleeping much better with this topper and waking up with less aches and pains!!!

That's wonderful!  A good night's sleep is very important to overall well-being.  I'll get some memory foam when I get my next camper.
