I am finally installing the Transgo Shift improver in my TV tomorrow. Two weeks til my trip to Disney so I will have to drive the truck to work to prove out the reliability. Instructions say three hours so I figure about 6 hours real time. I bought Amsoil synthetic transmission fluid to go back into it when I am done.

Have fun on the tyranny work.  I hope it helps a lot. :)

All done with the install. Instructions were very vague but after a little head scratching I finished the job with no spare parts.
This is made by http://www.transgoperformance.com/
and they have a long history of shift improvers.
This is not a simple job and I do not recommend it for anyone that would not feel comfortable performing brain surgery.;)
Naw, just kidding but it isn't for second guessers. It is pretty involved and the valve body has a lot of little parts, passages, nuts and bolts.
I adjusted the bands, changed the filter and used AMSOIL synthetic ATF+4 approved transmission fluid. Chryslers funny way of being different and requiring a special fluid, luckily AMSOIL makes a fluid that is universal.

The truck now shifts with a firm shift between gears instead of slipping to the next gear. The shift is firm but not abrupt. Should save a lot of wear and tear due to heat buildup caused by the factory built-in slippage. HEAT, the killer of transmissions.................

That Amsoil will probably help a lot too. It won't cook as easily, I understand. I use synthetics (oil, tranny, rear end) in my ATV's, and have since they were new. I have also started using synthetic motor oil in my pick'emup. Manual tranny, so it still has the original fluid in it.
