As many of you already know, Birol has finally found a PU!  But he's run into a little snag.  He bid on and won an aution for a pu on Ebay.  The trouble is that getting the camper to Canada is turning into a great big problem for sweet Birol.

Being a Canadian resident, Birol can't get the camper registered in MA.  There is the possibility of someone from CT buying it, registering it in CT, then turning around and selling it to Birol.  They would have to let B take the registration plates with him and have him send them back.

Birol could rent a U-haul to go get the camper.  From what I was told... around $400 one way.  Then there are the logistics of bringing the U-haul across the border.  He most likely would have to turn in the U-haul in the US somewhere.  That means, if he gets in, bring the camper home, turn around, cross the border back into US and turn in u-haul there.

The easiest way to get the camper home to Birol would be to have the dealer ship it to B.  While I don't know exactly how much that would cost... can't be much more than him renting the U-haul.  I know that the added cost of the shipping would be a real pinch for B...

So... I am willing to send him $50 towards the shipping cost.  I see it as my way of returning a good deed.  Last year when things were tight for me, some good samaritan here payed for my membership here.  Now I want to do my part to help out a friend in need... to pay it forward.

Birol has worked so long and hard, trying to find just the right pu and now it's dangling just beyond his fingertips.  I want to do what I can to make his dream come true.

Anyone else out there in need of doing a good deed?  Every little bit helps.

Now I just need him to tell me his paypal account info so I can get the $ to him.

C,

Thanks for the initiative, but I am not sure  if this is the way to go .... I am checking with u-haul but the price seems to be too steep for one of their trailer tow thingies ........

I surely appreciate the gesture. I have a feeling that if things don't work out, I should just keep looking, and purchase one from a "normal" state  :eyecrazy:

U-haul said it won't be secure transporting a travel trailer on their car carrying (4 wheels off version) trailers. 475 usd anyways .... Not worth it.
