Interesting but sad...

Well, I've got two days under my belt at the new RV Dealer job, and saw something today that really was odd. The service manager pointed it out to me, and couldn't understand it.

You see, there was a freshly traded in PU, a mid-80's unit with an 8' box, looked like an old Lionel or something. On the hitch bunk end, there was a big square cut into the canvas, right in the middle. Not just through the screen, but through the inside window flap as well. The service manager asked a couple of times why someone would do that. I took one look across the parking lot at it, and told him point blank, they did that to put a window A/C in it!!!

What makes this sad, is this quite old PU had brand spankin new canvas on it. And to close the hole in the flap that they cut, they used staples!!!! :eyecrazy:

Oddly enough, if you look inside, there is nothing against the front inside wall of the camper, so they could have cut a hole there for mounting an A/C... What a waste!:(

That is kinda sad. I guess some people have no common sense or took the lazy way out. Poor little trailer sounds like it needs a good home and someone to fix  it up.

I guess there are people out there that don't appreciate what they have and just want to destroy things without thinking.

What did they trade it in for?

Well, they obviously did not care for it ! Cut a good canvas ! IDIOTS !!!!!

Hopefully a condo in someplace that's always rainy.

Yea.. But, you can fix the canvas by replacing it. Cutting a hole thru the body & outer skin can not be reversed. If you fix up so it looked really nice, I think it is a pretty good way to mount one! If they saved the old cut-out and installed a zipper around it so it could be put back in it would be pretty slick

Well, the did save it, they only cut 3 sides so it's like a big flap. Unfortunately their version of a zipper came in the form of a stapler!!! :eyecrazy:
