I opened my Mesa yesterday, and in trying to pick up and open the dinette table by myself I twisted slightly the leg. Well, one side popped the plastic out of the leg and the other side broke the little plastic insert. It turns out that a little screw and washer on this little plastic endcap support the weight of the table legs. Short of getting a new plastic endcap from the dealer (are they available?), does anyone have any idea for improving this setup so it won't happen again? Thanks.

The plastic parts are available from the dealer. :)

3/4" pvc caps are what I used to replace ours when one of them split open. I drilled a hole in the center of the cap and used screws, lockwashers, and nuts to install them like the original ones were installed.

We used same fix as 'Bearbait'.  Wooden dowel works good and result is better than new.  So far only one leg on our dinette has failed but sure another one will sometime...so keeping the right size dowel handy.

When ours broke, I purchased a rubber cap that fits over a chair leg.  Screwed it in place and slipped the leg into it.  Has been there for almost a year and works fine.
