In a hotel room !!! I just couldn't stgay away from PUT

Saw the PU and was discouraged slightly but I think it will be ok. The roof is wavey  ... pretty wavey ... some major dings on one side and some sheet metal like a palm size missing on the back.

We couldn't open it up, no time. I went to wallmart and the shock of my life !

The PU has a 1-7/8" ball, and my hitch uses 2"X2" draw bars. And all the draw bars have a 1" shank hole, and all 1-7/8" balls have a 3/4" shanks !!!!! Can you say big problem ! They will fix a 1-7/8" ball onto the draw bar I got, needs roughl;y 3" rise or so according to my calculations. We will see if it will work tomorrow.

Since I arrived around 4 pm we couldn't do anything ! Tomorrow 10 am I will go and we will do all the stuff. Hope it will eb safe to tow.

One of the tires is half deflated as well They both need air though, I couldn't check the tire threads. I hope I will be able to hook up with Lee tomorrow.

Glad o hear that you made it there ok.  Sounds like a few problems with the PU, but ya have to keep in mind that you paid a very low price for it, there's bound to be some things that aren't up to par.  Hope that you get ahold of Lee and Andi, and get things straightened out.
I wonder if you could feel the presence of all of us in you car with you on the way there.?  we've been thinking about you all day.

Birol, I'm disappointed that the pu has the roof problem and the others , but I guess for the sale price, none of us can complain too much and as clever as you are, I bet you can fix most of the things wrong given a little time  Also, there are lots of people on this board who will be able to provide you some good tech info and advice. .

The hitch ball size is a complication, but I imagine it can be adjusted, too, although .  I wonder if the tires are really safe from the way you describe them.  dont take any chances.

I am so happy you could get on line and contact us and will be lighting candles until I hear you and the pu are safely home!.

B, Lee got ahold of the dealer this morning and gave his phone number to him, he was suppose to give it to you!!!  Look at the thread about "link to Birol's ebay..."   You'll see.

Dealer did not mention anything to me .....

I need his address so that I can drive there tomorrow, I don't think this PU is upto travelling  600 miles , yet !

Ihope the roof is somehow fixable, it is like a melted down asphalt road ..... oh well, I am sure it can be fixed somehow. For 435, it could not be better. Also the lifitng turning thingie is something added to the hitch later, which I don't really care. It is a high box, pretty high ! If I hadn't forgotton to bring the mini usb cable I would post pictures.

I am sure they can fix the ball   The hitch on the PU is very rusty .... I hope that can be somehows fixed as well. More pictures would have been nice ! I hope lee doesn't say return this junk tomorrow

B, do ya have the sellers name? (first and last) and his town, right?  Look it up in the phone book or call information, get his home phone number and ask.  Someone on the board may have Lee and andi's number, but who knows if they'll check the board for a While.

Dealer said that the inside is old fashioned (Of course) but is in decent condition. It is not torn or shred to pieces, he said you could camp tomorrow in it, it looks good !  I can't wait till we pop it up tomorrow and look inside !!!! Looks like I will be able to return back Wednesday, oh well ... Wifey gave me permission till Thursday hehehehe

She has to work and make money during the week Actually We tried really hard to to come all together but it did not work out. DD wanted to come but since I didn't know where I was going and what kind of people I would be dealing with I did not bring her, and now I regret it. here I am in a nice hotel with an indoor swimming pool which she loves, and the dealer is a great guy, and the suuronding area is  pretty good ! Dumb me !!! DD is such a funny person, she would make the trip even more pleasurable, oh well ......

We will put the PU to good use, don't worry

Do ya know his last name? And the town he's in?  If so, call information and give them the info and ask for his home phone number.  You must have gotten some kind of information from him today when you picked up the camper.  What about the title or anything, does it have information on it?

I did not pick up the camper yet ..... Only spoke to him and purchased the hitch parts needed .......

Tomorrow I will ask him and just show up in front of their house
