Canvas actually looks to be in good shape for it's age and everything is definitely fixable.

One hint: a single link to http://www.infocs.com/goomph/Finally/ saves a heck of a lot of typing.

Mike's shorcut works but it shows all the other pictures which are duplicates and increases the bandwidth usage for the web site I am "borrowing" from a friend. Please just look at the links I provided as I do not want to burden him with heavy hits ......

Pictures look great!1 I am sure you will have this looking like new before you know it!!!

Dont forget to put those stablizers back up before pulling away!!!

Gone-Camping

I'll have to wait until I get home tomorrow night to take a look at them, I'm using the cell phone & laptop right now, and have the Venturi software set to "lousy" graphics to speed the 14.4k connection...

Hey B~

The pics look great!  The canvas doesn't seem to be as bad as you led us to believe!  I see that there is one area where there are a few patches that need to be redone.  If you gice Bear Creek Canvas a call, I'm am sure they will send you some canvas to match.  When we had a replacement canvas made for our 67 Skamper, the color was the same as your camper.  The folks there were VERY courteous and helpful.

How much have you done so far in the way of cleaning.  Even a good cleaning will do wonders to spruce it up!

I know you plan to replace the interior roof panels.  Cliff's mods look like they will work nicely for you.  A word of caution.  I know you mentioned crown mouldings.  Make sure that if you use crown mouldings, you can still get the roof down all the way.  You may not have the clearance for crown mouldins.  Close the camper up and open the door and crawl inside to see what part of the roof touches whick part of the box.  In our old Skamper, crown would have been out of the question.  We were lucky though.  We had an old metal roof.  When we took the headliner panels down it revealed shiny aluminum inside.  e liked to look and never put any panels back up.  It also gave more head room and left more room to leave blankets on the bunks when we closed the camper up.

Gotta run... dinner is ready!

And you all see how clean and shiny those rims are.. There is a select few who knows the meaning behind the "rhinestone rims"  ;)

Nice photos, I bet you can not wait to really clean it up, Eh? Just think how nice it will be with that nice clean new canvas..

birol

Did not clean it at all yet :( rested on Thirsday and Friday and workwd the weekend nights  ......  We have been airing it out since Friday and I have to close it little bit later as it will rain soon. Wednesday it will get sunny that it when we will start to clean it. We want to camp sometime in July (After her mom and niece goes way) so there is no rush.  The cushions will also be done at the same time. That is the priority right now, cleaning and cushions, then making patching up the canvas. I prices new canvas already, 725 bucks :(:(:( Will have to wait till next year. But it is a solid box, and we like it, it is big, so next winter we will splurge and order it for the nexst year. I will get to the roof sometime this summer probablt. Someone did it on PUX on their starmaster 6 and stated that it is not tough ...... Those panels are so flimsy, man oh man .... they will come right off ....

Hey, the pictures look pretty good. I've been following your saga, "Quest for PopUp" for quite some time. I'm glad you were able to swing it, and get yourself a popup. There are some definite advantages to getting a used popup, at a bargain:

1. No need to insure it.
2. If the kids happen to break something on it, it won't seem like the end of the world.
3. You can do much of the work yourself, without feeling all paranoid that you will break something.
4. Without all the extra do-dads, (i.e. hot water, demand pump, etc.), there is less to go wrong.

Most importantly, IT IS YOURS! And, you won't be sleeping on the ground.

Congratulations. And, a big HooHaa to Lee, for his assistance. It was quite warming to see such an outpouring to your efforts. There are so many nice folks in the world, and it's nice to see folks helping each other out!

NightOwl

good clear pictures Birol.  And it doesnt look  as rough as I had feared it might.   hard to believe it is as old as it is--sure doesnt look its age.  (Old enough to vote and then some!  :J)  You are so dedicated and so capable--you'll soon make it into something very clean and fresh and  workable.  And best of all, YOU WONT BE MAKING PAYMENTS ON IT!  It is all yours, and if you have a glitch, you can repair it and not have to worry about voiding a  warrenty or havng to fight with a dealer over something.

You are all  going to have such great fun with it!

Gone-Camping

Nope, can't take a week off right now, just started with this company (again) and doubt they would like that.

As for the trailer, looks very familiar. Sure, it's rough around the edges, but with a little effort and some money as you go along this trailer should turn out to be just fine. The canvas doesn't look too bad, couple of spots there. The ceiling paper is coming down, but using some contact cement and some sani-lite reinforced plastic panels would make it look brand spankin new up there!

That galley is not the factory galley, I can tell that much. The factory galley was a two piece unit that had a swing-up/down function to it.

I like the smiley face!  Did anyone else find it?

I saw it!  Looks like one of those stickers they hand out at Wal-Mart.  :)

Looks good, Birol!  Definately needs some TLC, but it looks like you guys can camp in it this summer and maybe get new canvas next year.  :-()
