MPTDAT

Well, dispite all the arguing and jealousy that has been going on the last couple of monthes, DH and I have made it to our 10th anniversary. June 4th, 1994 we were married. I'm thinking another 10 years wouldn't be a bad thing!!

P.S. DH finally got a job at Lowes. The funny thing is is that Target now wants him for $1.50 more an hour!! Things are looking up.

You are halfway to me.  We will hit 21 years in a couple of weeks.  The second decade sure went fast.  Congrats on the first one.

It will be #39 for us on the 12th.

Can you believe....26 years (Oct. 28) with the same ol' boy! We are definitely a minority these days. Camping is one of the things we have in common that we love, love, love to do!

We just celebrated our 16th the end of May.  Hmmm...  Looks like a camper trend, doesn't it?

Congratulations on your tenth!  :)

Congratulations, MPTDAT. You guys have been through a lot this year. Money is the biggest contributor to separation/divorce, and you have overcome some problems this year.

On a related note, it has been shown that couples who camp together, stay together. Obviously, it takes more than that, but it has been shown to be a common thread in many long marriages.

In our (Holly and I) short 2 years 3 months of camping together, here are some lessons we feel have made us stronger already:

1. We have to work together as a team. Just setting up a camper and breaking down camp would be too much if one person had to do it all.
2. We look forward to camping, so we look forward to being together. I enjoy the travel to get there as much as the actual camping.
3. We have to compromise on some things when camping, such as site preference, food preference, and even what-we-do-while-we're-there preference.
4. We actually spend more time together when camping than when at home. There is the aforementioned travel time when we are side by side. When camping, we eat our meals together (hardly at home). One of us may disappear at home, upstairs to the computer or another television; however, when camping, there is no upstairs or another television.

Maybe I should have started this in another thread. I really meant to just congratulate MPTDAT.

May 26 found us at our 14 year anniversary.  It has been rough at times but all in all it's been good. Our most stressfull time in the 17 years we have been together was the year before we moved.  And I think since we moved 9 months ago, things have gotten much better in the last six months. So I'm optomistic that the next 14 years will fly by.

Congratulations!

25 years for wife and I in November! Both had previous marriages that didn't work. We met in August, 1979,  had our first date in September, 1979, and got married November 10, 1979!

Our previous marriages, we each "went with" our spouses for 4 years before our marriages, then the marriages lasted less than 5 years for each of us! Go Figure!

Momma Mia we share the same anniversary date!!!  We just celebrated our 20th wedding anniv on the 26th!!  I agree on your sentiment about the year before being stressful for you.  This past year has been so crazy for us leading up to the decision to head south!!  Now everyone is talking about it, which is great, because the kids are so at ease with talking about leaving!!  Phew!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Can't wait till I call back to MA when everyone is just digging and plowing out while we're (hopefully) still enjoying warm sunny weather!!

Happy Anniversary to all our Anniversary Friends!!

Had our 16th this Apr.

My DH and I will celebrate 8 years on the 22nd of June.  We were together 4 years before getting married.

It only feels like 34 years. ;)

Congrats to all on your years together--for richer or poorer, in sickness and in health, through backing up the pop up at night in a strange campground on empty stomachs and short fuses.... :#

Congratulations, there seems to be something special about anniversaries that are multiples of 10.  Kathy and I celebrated our 15th on 1 April.
