Well we are in the process of packing everything up.  The moving company shows up tomorrow to begin packing.  Two days of packing and a day to load the truck; then it's off to Georgia.

I don't know when in this process I'll loose the computer, but hopefully i'll be back on line Friday at the latest.  We will be staying in a hotel, but they have a hook up for high speed internet.

Cheryl

I feel for you all. The moving process is never easy. How is Natasha handling the chaos? Hope everything goes smoothly for one and all.
Let us know about all the great campgrounds you find in he Georgia area!

I thought you had already done this....guess I misinterpreted some other post.

Anyway, good luck with the move. I don't envy you at all. If you were closer, I'd try and come help.

Mapquest says Nashville and Kennesaw are only 225 miles apart. We oughta meet half-way somewhere, sometime!

Say, Mapquest says Fall Creek Falls is 151 miles from Kennesaw, and it is a (measured) 160 miles from us. That's a good place to see some great scenery, hike, and good place to camp.

PS: "Oughta" is your first lesson in Southernisms. It means "One should or need to do something."

DOnt forget Y'all-  this means all of you..

You will see car wrecks -not accidents or crashes

Dont forget to say no sir and yes sir also no ma'am and yes ma'am

When I moved from New Jersey to Florida I had to learn all this new lingo..:):)

Tim, we'll be thinking about you this week.  Our move starts in two weeks, then off to Northern KY and civilian life.

Lesson 2:

Ch'eat yet?

translates to "Did you eat yet?"

Being from MD you might understand "You's" meaning "Y'all," which is a smaller group than "All, Y'all."  If you use You's Johnny Reb likely won't understand you, he'll think you are talking down to him.

Good luck on the move and the changes in your life.  I hope Natasha handles the move well and enjoys her new home with the two of you.  Sorry you will not be able to make it to the rally and I will see that Dave gets the tee shirts for you. :)

Actually, I grew up outside Lejune, so I already have the language down pat.

Once you get to KY we will have to find a place to meet & camp.  Might have to be in TN so Larry & Holly can make it :D

I remembered that you grew up outside Lejeune but I know that languages are perishable :D  :D

I would love to get a rally together in TN or NC.  We'll have to work on it once we all get settled.  SWMBO tells me that one of the first things I have to do is find a JOB to pay for all my habits.

I've had "You's" said to me before, and, although I knew what was being said/meant, I also felt talked down to. But I try and realize that You's is a Yankee Ya'll.

Tim,
Welcome back to the south.

Larry ya'll being from Tn. What does it mean and from where does it come?
"You-ins"
is this the same as "all ya'll"
When we made reservations for our trip to TN June 19th the guy who took our money said this to us. He said "you-ins come on back"
I guess my $50.00 deposit wasn't good enough to let him know I was coming back.m We drove up to Pigeon Froge back in January to check out all the CampGrounds so the other 2 couples going with us would know what they watned. I wanted Townsend, but it was to far away from all the crap for them.
Anybody campin' near Pigeon Forge, TN June19-26.??
Townsend? Gatlinburg? Maryland? Knoxville?

Generally, when we here "You-uns", (correct spelling :D ), it means the speaker is from the STICKS.
