What I am busy with .....

Milo ....

He is taking a lot of time. he is coming around but needs a lot of attention and love. His personality can turn on a dime and back in a mater of minutes. Sometimes stays bad for half a day ..... Needs time, and almost all of it come from me.

DS

His tests are near, he needs a lot of coaching and encouragement .. His grades are all above 85, peak out at 95, but we want him and he needs to have 90 for each course to increase his chances of going to the military college/university. This seems to be his only way to get higher education.

She is a happy yapper, seems to be doing well but needs better social skills ...

Got all the stuff I need to troubleshoot the electrical stuff, we are mostly in it having coffee or tea ! I will get the license plate for it today at last !!!

Poor me ..... I get no time off Weekends kill me, and Mondays go in a blur because of lack of sleep .... before I am back to normal it is another  weekend.

The good news is we are getting our grass ! they started to put the topsoil in p[lace today ! Before long we will have a backyard !!!!!!

I am headed to the tile store to order some ceramic tile to do the floor kids vanity area in their bathroom.  The kids sinks are in their hallway area with the WC seperate.  The vanity area of the hallway is carpeted!?!? Weird.  Typical for FL I guess.  Anyway, toothpaste and carpet are a bad mix.  Also, the previous owners had a dog who had a potty accident on the carpet near the tiled WC area.  Well, our cat found it and has been peeing there!  BAAAD KITTY!  She's never done anything like that!  Once she went there, she kept doing it.  Even after I spent $90 a few weeks ago to have Chem Dry come professionally clean the spot!  I pulled the carpet back on that corner and the pile of the carpet actually pulled away from the backing.  Dang! We got some Nature's Miracle which got rid of the odor but the carpeting in the hall needs to go!  And Kitty has been banished to the screened lanai until the tile work is done.

DS  Getting ready for his fourth birthday party.  Also trying to get him to stop stuttering when he says words starting with the hard C sound.  It just started acouple weeks ago.  I asked him yesterday why he does it.  He said "To get your attention!"  Sigh...

DD1... 8 years old... teeth falling out everywhere!  New ones are coming in very crowded and crooked.  Need to search out an orthodontist.

DD2  She's the middle kid and always a handful!  So mouthy sometimes.  And so dramatic!  I just told her to get some ponytail holders so I can pull her hair back and she replied with a huge, pitiful NOOooooo!  And flopped herself down on the floor!  Maybe she'll be an actress someday!

DH.... he's working hard, missed out on our camping trip to Little Talbot Island SP last week.  It was my first trip alone with the kids and went so well that we stayed an extra night.

Other...  My parents are coming on Mon. for a 9 day visit!  The kids won't know about it until we pick them up at the airport.  I plan to tell the kids that I want to pick up a purse I saw at the airport gift shop the last time we were there.  My parents wil "bump into us" at the gift shop.  That's the plan anyway!

While parents are visiting, DH and I get to go away to a Bed and Breakfast in St. Augustine for next weekend.  Kind of an anniversary get away. ( we celebrated 14 years on May 26)

Ok.... also need to shop for a gift for a friends b-day and start looking for Father's Day gifts!  Gotta run!

I love this thread!!

We're busy with trying to help DD keep ex-SIL at bay. The guy is a nutcase (we TOLD her not to marry him).  So it's court appearances, mediators, appeals, psychologists, attorneys, bill-collectors, crying kids, and on and on.  Remember, this is the same court system that gave OJ his kids!  The stress is unbelievable and I need to go CAMPING!

Let's see, what have we got going on:

Cheetah: we are looking to adopt her this weekend, hoping that works out.  All other family pets doing fine.

Family: We have family reunion this weekend four hours away.  Travel with toddlers!

DH: having some nagging medical problems, mostly nothing, but the whining is getting annoying.

DS: not much, he actually managed to graduate from the 5th grade to go on to middle school.  Mainly just trying to keep him somewhat engaged this summer, since he tends to veg too much.

DD#1: Her 1/2 B-Day is in two weeks, we're having Luau, so that's a big deal.  Have to let all the family know that her party is in June, that way she doesn't have to wait until December for presents.  Poor kid's Bday is two days before Christmas, so this year she is old enough to understand party at 1/2 B-Day, and just cake at real B-Day.  Still have to acquire decorations, etc,,,been too busy waiting for reunion to be over then get down to business.

DD#2: Terrible twos!!  Nuff said, trying to get adoption started

DD#3:  Trying to get custody suit finished up, lawyer seems to have forgotten us.  We have temp custody, but need to get final. Trying to get adoption started on this one too, and has well baby check next week.

SIL - moved in with us two weeks ago, doing all childcare in return for room/board while going to school.  School turns out to be very expensive if she wants a one year program, probably have to do 2 year, which means living with us for 2 years, but way cheaper for educational costs.  Trying to get worked out what schools to apply to etc, and exactly what are of the medical field she wants to take.

Nephew - moved in with us two weeks ago with mom, see above.  Trying to find nephew job, he's doing well so far, working some temporary jobs, and second interview for security position is on Sunday.  He wants to go into Criminal Justice, so we're also looking for his college stuff, probably going for an AAS, for two years.  He's a little more worrisome, he isn't extremely academic, so we'll need to help him get through some of the courses like college algebra, etc.  I think he'll be fine in the courses centered on what he wants to do, but the other stuff won't be easy.  Mom doesn't do well with Algebra either, so I'm hoping I can show him some other ways to think and get him through the class.

Me:  Nothing, who has time for me with all the other going on.

General: diapers, laundry, shopping, cooking, cleaning, advising, breaking up sibling fights, going to work, paying bills, balancing budget etc.

No wonder I'm so tired every day!

I was thinking the same thing!  
 
I am now working full time at Home Deopt in the Garden Department!  (good because I love to garden - bad because my feet are cramping up by the end of every day)   The only thing I really have to do when I get home is laundry and spend time with the kids.  That's been the biggest adjustment for me.  I really miss them a lot so I want to be with them as much as I can.  Because I'm only there temporary - they won't give me the hours I really want (5am-1pm) So I'm stuck working wierd hours like 9:30-6:60 or 1pm-10pm)  
However, I need to give credit to my DH!!  Out house has never been so consistantly clean!  The dishes are ALWAYS done, kids are always happy, living rooms is always clean.  How does he do it?  Maybe we should just do a role reversal!!  The other night I came in at 7:30pm and they were all sitting there watching TV, baby asleep, house spotless, and lawn mowed!  I fell into a chair and said, "Don't even tell me they ate dinner already!"  Yup, got a big grin!  Amazing!  Anyway, I've got to go leave for work!

I was thinking about renting him out, but I think that's illegal!!  Borrowing - on the other hand - is just fine!  Of course the only day he's free is Sunday afternoons!  Otherwise he's booked solid!

DH works out of town Monday thru Friday.

DD#1 is staying with my sister this summer.  Went camping for a week last week with another sister of mine.  Lucky her, I wish I could have went.

DD#2 has graduated from pre school day care to after school day care.  She loves it.  They swim every day weather permitting, go to the Library for story time every Tuesday, and has a field trip every Thursday.  My other daughters want to go here too, but can't.

DD#3 is in preschool and really enjoying it.  Her cousin started there a week ago and they get to see each other every day.

Me going to college Monday thru Thursday from 10am to 3pm.  Then all the homework that involves.  Taking kids to various day cares and picking them up.  Fixing supper, trying to keep clothes and dishes washed.  Heck with keeping the house clean, its a total loss.  I need Lee's help too!!!

The worst thing is I don't get to go camping until July 29th for 5 days and that will be it for the year.  I think I'm going to be sick.  

But next year I will be through with college and camping here I come!
