This morning me and DS started to patch up the canvas on finally !!!! With a lot of anticipation and hesitation, we applied a lot of contact cement to the large arewas which need large patches to be applied. It took a few tries to get the dryness just right, but we got the hang of it in no time ! We not have patched up around 90% of the areas and erected the canvas properly ! There is an areas below the bunend where the tightening thingie magicie goes which needs a long strip of patch up and a sown arew which is partially patched up. We decided to divide the patch job into two sections to make it stronger and easier on poor ourselves !

Canvas being erected fully gave Finally a proud look immdiately ! I have pulled the vinyl corners all the way to where they belong, and used the bed extender thingies (Instead of the shepherd poles modern ones) which gave that PU shape  to the canvas.  Tomorrow I will do the two small areas and canvas will be completely done. Then I will take DS from his high school (he will be wriitng his last test for the year) and  we will go to princess auto and get that trailer wiring kit we saw. We will come back home and take care of the wiring problems, hopefully all by the end of tomorrow ! If not tomorrow, by Tuesday. I will also buy the missing reflectors and the marker lights. Just a couple of bucks .....

That should only leave the cushions (which we still have to buy the fabric and sew, wife said she wanted to do that so at least that will get done in all this chaos)  and the propane connection. And with still 22 days to go, I feel confident that we will be all ready to go when the time comes. It will probably take a week to find all the camping gear and set it up to get into the TV or PU.

I thought I would just vent off little bit and chat with some real people :)

It's been kinda quiet around here today!

I was busy working on my trailer too. I've got a bike rack that fit's into a smaller class II receiver hitch, and actually had a used U-Haul Class II hitch as well. So I've been busy engineering this hitch to the rear of the trailer. With double axles and very tongue heavy a pair of bikes in the back are not going to bother this particular trailer.

At any rate, it's about 90% done, I've managed to mount the back side of the hitch using existing mounting brackets and holes already in the trailer, and the other half I was going to drill a couple holes into the trailer frame, but now looks like I'll be able to do this without drilling any holes in my trailer, which is the way i'd prefer to do it....

Look Ma, no holes!!! :-():-():-():-():-():-():-()
(I've got a picture posted in the Hybrid section)....

BTW, this is a freebie mod... I already had the hitch and the bike rack (bought the bike rack at thrift store last year for $5), the angle iron I got from work for free, only thing I've paid for so far is a can of black spray paint!

It sounds like you are really getting your PU in good shape.  Keep working on her. :)
