Three families camped at RB Winter State Park in PA this past Memorial Day weekend.  We are planning on camping there again next year (2005) and it will be time to make reservations in a few days.  For PA parks you can reserve sites 11 months in advance.  There are only 59 sites in the park, with about one third being electric.  I would like to get a feel for the type of sites and the number of families interested in going.  I have a favorite site that is dry.  I am planing to reserve this site, but if other people are going and want electric sites I am willing to change my plans.  At this point in time the park is a no-pet campground.  If you are interested in going please post it here.  Here is a link to the park.  :)

If you are interested in going and want site recomendations let me know.

Hey Tracy!

We would probably be interested in an electric site. As you know though, we are dry camp fanatics from North Lake, and if a non-electric site is waaay nicer than one with electric we'll go for it. Now that we have the new baby, these "no pets" PA SP's are annoying. I better ask Steph if she is willing to leave Sabrina home. lol

Please keep us posted!

PS - I just checked mapquest and it's 203 miles to this CG.  So it's about the same trip length-wise as Pine Grove was...  No biggie!

Tracy,
Just saw your email. Thanks for the reminder. We just got in from leaving Jason in RI - can't believe he'll be gone for 3 weeks. He couldn't wait to get rid of us so he could hang out with the guys.

The kids prefer electric so I'll probably try for one of the electric sites I liked but if not, I'll try for the non-electric one we stayed on last time.

Mem Day Weekend 2005

We'll be on site 37 (electric) Fri thru Mon. Hope the camper fits - just remembered the camper that was there was an Aliner.

Tough getting through. Started calling at 6:52. Kept getting message "park reservations line isn't open yet", then I got through but put on hold. When my turn finally came, most of the electric & dry sites I wanted were already gone   . I sure hope fellow PUT members got them  ;). In any case, we're all set. I tried to reserve a cabin for Courtney so she could bring friends but I was told I had to reserve for an entire week, not just the weekend.

I made my reservation today for site 18 a dry site.  Di i thought you would have picked number 34.  I am guessing number 35 was already taken when you called.  Rick if you want an electric site and 34 is not taken that one is sort of deep and close to the bathroom, but on the main loop.  I like being on the dry sites on the spur road. :)

DiW

Tracy,
Yes, site 35 was taken. Not sure how he beat me to it ... For some reason, I thought that Chris liked site 37 - now he looks at me funny like I'm crazy so who knows. I guess he liked talking to the people that were staying on site 37  ;) .

Site 34 (electric) was available too so maybe Rick will take it. I would have taken 21 (dry site) but I was told 18-23 were no longer available. I couldn't figure out how they were all gone since I had been on the phone from 6:50am until they picked up. Since you were able to get site 18 after I called, I can see that the guy was mistaken (the polite way of saying that I was lied to). Glad you got a site. Do you know if the cabins can be rented for a weekend ? I'm wondering if the guy got that wrong too.

Site 18 and the others were at the end of the campsite list, not in order.  At first I was told that 18 was not available, but then the lady found it.  The guy was right.  The summer season rental period begins the second Friday in June ends the second Friday in August. During this time all cabins must be rented for a one week period, beginning on a Friday.  If Beckie doesn't take the site near me I may move to an electric site up by you.
