Today I'm going to drive down to Marshall MI and meet with Elisa at Schuler's rest. for lunch.  I'm really looking forward to it, as I haven't seen her since Christmas time (also at Schuler's, as a matter of fact).  It's such a nice little town with a lot of really cute shops, we always have a good time there, and the food at Schuler's is always good.   She's been camping somewhere near Chelsea for a week or so with some friends, I was originally going to meet and camp with her til the weekend, but I think maybe with the changes in the weather she's gotten kinda 'full up' with camping.   (she's camping in her van)  So for now, it's just going to be a day trip, instead.   Well, I'd better get moving if I'm gonna get there at 11:00.

Say hi to her if you read this before leaving :)

If you see this, see if she's coming thru Cincinnati, maybe we can do lunch or something.

Just got home, and had a really nice visit (and the food was good too).   From Ann Arbor, she's going to be heading east to Main for a visit with some other family members, I think she will be there for a few weeks.  Then back to Ann Arbor and then back home to Georgia.  She wanted to know about everybody on the board, and may be able to borrow a 'puter to log in this evening for a while.   I told her about B's adventures with Finally, and that everyone is doing well.   She asked about our little Brother Al (topcat) and I told her that since I haven't been cooking much lately, I haven't heard much from him.  He only talks to me when he's hungry.

That's not true sis, I'll talk to you now too....because I'm angry about not being invited to the free lunch! What am I? Unchopped liver???  ;)

Yes, the queen of Walmart camping has been having a fun time camping almost every day. I'm so jealous. At least we get away every weekend but it's still not enough. If it weren't such a long drive to/from the trailers & work, I'd stay up there during the week too. The bad thing is that when I'm in the woods, I don't want to leave. It's depressing to return to the "real world". Peggy & I fight over departing every weekend.

Now, what about dinner tonight?

I'm sorry baby, I wasn't thinking about how you might be having departum blues when it's time to come home after camping EVERY SINGLE WEEKEND!  (some of us only get to camp ocassionally)   But it is hard to leave and get back to the city,  so I'll feel bad for you.
BTW, who told you it was free lunch today?!   Yes, Elisa did treat me, but how did you know that??  Did you read my post and call her up and beg her for leftovers?  Well, there weren't any, so there, we cleaned our plates and didn't save anything, not even for Rick.  Hahaha.  (but I did get him some of those wonderful home-made crackers, and a tub of that famous Schuler's BarScheeze to spread on them.    Maybe he'll share with you....)
As for dinner, I ate so much today that I wasn't hungry when dinner time came, and Rick had to fend for himself tonight.

Omigod!  and I thought my dh was the only one who loved Schuler's.  He is a Michigan born California transplant and he orders it by the case for college football season (go Blue!).  He saves the last tub for Michigan's Bowl game (hopefully Rose!)  It is fun to see that someone else enjoys this low calorie treat!

I got a pound of the cheese and it wasn't more than an hour after I got home that I looked and saw that it was half gone.  Somehow I think poor TC is going to get left out, no sharing here.  It's such good stuff, my DH loves horseradish, and that's just the right touch in this wonderful spread.

Isn't it amazing that there are certain local and regional favorites where-ever we live that no one else gets to understand??   Try looking for Vernors ginger ale anywhere else in the country!

Allen Parker, you Pinochio, you!  :(  I bet with all the lies you told me on the phone last night your nose is 2 feet long and growing! (He sez to me, "...and I bet Toni even got some crackers and cheese to take home to Rick"...and let trusting  little me think he had GUESSED this.  Arrgghhh!)

Yep, Toni and Zigi and I had SUCH a great time yesterday--the hours just passed too quickly.  Schulers is still great fun after all these years and Ann Arbor is still "home" and MY BLOOD STILL RUNS MAIZE AND BLUE WHEN I CUT MYSELF!!!

Hi, Birol, I smile whenever I think of you and Finally, and am so happy that all of us are getting  to share in your experiences with it.  It is things like this that keep us coming back here and give us a sense that PopUpTimes is unique on the web in its sense of caring and genuine community where we truly share in each others dreams and triumphs.

I am "bootlegging" this time on a borrowed computer and  am off to Maine in a few days for more adventures.  I miss this place and all of you! Hugs to all, EA

We have Vernors Ginger Ale here in WV. I would have to say I like Canada Dry better though.
