Heading to Hills Creek State Park (PA) in late Aug.  Anyone ever been there?  It's near what is known as the "Grand Canyon" of PA.  I will submit a report after we check it out.

Debbie I have never been to the park, but I am interested in going there sometime.  Could you please check out the sites for me?  I like more private sites.  Thanks Debbie. :)

Wild Wild Qwest

We haven't been to the SP, but the area around Tioga county is beautiful. Take a ride on Rt. 6 and a short hike down the PA Grand Canyon. (don't forget to bring a camera and wear hiking shoes/boots)

Tioga County

Enjoy!

I have been to the Grand Canyon of PA and it is impressive.
I did look up a campground there that sounded fantastic, but it was not in the state park.

We had a real nice vacation at Hills Creek State Park!  The park was very nice.  I will post good site numbers later this week when I have a minute.  The country around Wellsboro & Tioga is beautiful.  Hills Creek has a nice lake to row, paddle, or kayak in and they have all of those for rent.  They had a swimming beach, but the water looked a bit dark for me to venture into, but plenty of kids were having fun.  There is a VERY nice hiking trail around the entire lake, its about 2 miles long and peaceful.  We took a covered wagon ride through the bottom of the canyon (Grand Canyon of PA....well it's a canyon and its very scenic...but calling it the "Grand Canyon" of PA is a s t r e t c h)  the ride was very nice.

The campground also has very nice cottages to rent along with two yurts.

We had to use a heater on "high" two nights of the 4 we were there....this summer has been unreal!
