How long does it take for you to set up camp from the moment you drive up to the campsite until you can sit down and relax for the evening?
When we back in, level, crank up the top, pull out the beds, set up the door, put up the awning and tacky lights, make the beds, bring in the food, clothes, unload the firewood etc. We can count on 1 1/2 to two hours. How about you?

Yep..about the same for us...an hour and a half or so.  DH and I were just discussing this over the weekend while setting up a relatively easy dry camp with no awning, tacky lights, mats, etc..  and it still took about an hour.  I wonder if part of the time consuming chores may be that we can't keep the PU at home so all the food, clothes, wood, chairs, etc. has to be transferred from the truck to the PU and then put away instead of being packed in there to begin with??

I can do it alone in about an hour ~ the kids all have little jobs to do too!  I keep the PU loaded and ready to go.  All that's in the TV is food & clothes.

If any of you seen my dad and myself at the ralley Friday morning you know it doesn't take me long to setup or take down.

It takes us about an hour (or a little less) AFTER we park and level.  However, we have LOTS OF STUFF!  Talk about Troop Beverly Hills....ha ha   :eyecrazy: And although the camper is ready to go, we pack food, ice chests, extra awnings, screen room etc in the truck so that takes time also.

thats because your the smart one! plain and simple camping, no tacky lights to remove, no add-a-rooms to fold, no kids to chase,,,,,,etc,

Does this include the time required to chase four kids?  The two older are supposed to watch the two younger, but that doesn't happen.  So there are lots of breaks to retrieve wandering toddlers, and fuss at unsupervising 10 and 7 year olds etc.  We seem to take forever to setup camp, but then too, Brian doesn't really get in a hurry about anything.  I've long since stopped trying to rush him, cause then I just get stressed and end up doing well more than my fair share while he still lumbers along at his pace.  We take it easy during setup, and for some things, we may not even do them until that evening or the next day, like the camp perimeter lights, and an extra table awning etc.  We seem to set things up over the course of a couple days, and then I start putting things away on the night before we are scheduled to leave too.

It takes us about 45 minutes to an hour to set up, depending on whether or not we put up awnings and the screen room.  We are usually set up enough that DW can start cooking diner in about half an hour while I finish up if we get into camp late.

The really confusing one for me is how long it takes to break camp (when we are in transit and trying to get to the next site in a hurry).  DW sets the pace on this one since she likes to take a shower and put on at least a little war paint before we go.

If we don't make breakfast, and I work my little tail off around her we can be on the road in 2 hours after the alarm goes off.  If I slow down to a human pace, make coffee, a hot breakfast, eat, and clean up afterwords, it takes about 2 1/2 hours  I don't understand, guess God is trying to remind me that we are on vacation, try and relax!

I voted for 1 hour, but I think it takes us between 30-45 minutes depending on whether the kids are content watching amovie in the truck or running around us while we're trying to get things done.
