Take it as you will, but we have been plauged with some bad luck lately.. (my wife admitted to asking for her faith to be tested :eyecrazy: ) Anyway.. with my job, our largest Insurance Co. decided to pull out of my company (Commerce Insurance btw) Think 60-75 % of our work! So that makes $$ very tight now (me still trusting and awaiting the end of that trial) So while Briol was here over the weekend our less than a year old dishwasher breaks.. We are waiting untill Tuesday for the repair guy to show up and hope that it is still covered. (I think the water valve blew on it) So tonight in a final fit of defiance my wife comes upstairs almost in tears, no she was in tears.. Out washing machiene is broken! So, I get out the shop vac as all washing machienes break when full of water! I suck out 6 vaccumes full and put the wet soapy laundry in a trash bag for her to bring to her moms to finish it.. I take a look at it and can not see any obvious problems.. So now on to the good stuff, this is the trusting God to take care of your needs when you put your faith in Him.. I decide "what the heck" I will look at the Boston area "craigs list" to see if there are any cheap ones for sale.. Then I scaned over to the "free" section for kicks.. Well, posted way back on Sat. was a "free washer" So I e-mailed him around 4p and about 7:30p he e-mailed me back

"Lee,
Still have it. Give me a call at (781) xxx-xxx right now and you can come pick it up in
Woburn this evening.
Michael"

So I Call him up, Yep it is really free, it worked good (said he has only used it a few times), girlfriend moving in with hers, it is white ect.. So I tell him I want it and can drive out right now (sure, it's about 70 miles one way.. But it is free!! ) Anyway, without further ado, this is what I brought my wife home for free.. BTW, she unwrapped her "present" already.. What I mean to say is it still had the blue plastic protector film on the control panel!!!! It is a almost brand new Maytag!!! God is good!

(sorry for the dark photo... but I think you get the idea!)

You know Lee, I agree with you 100%, God is Good.

In your case, from what I can tell lurking around here, and seeing the help, and advice you provide to others, I would say that this is a case of what goes around, comes around.

My wife seems to bring us some good fortune as well. She always helps others, is always kind, and is a very loving person.

This last month, we were on vacation in Yosemite, and the Tow Vehicle motor developed a terrible noise. I thought... mucho expensive rebuild, here we come. We're a bit short on $$ these days, 400 miles or so from home, with the trailer, etc. We were at our campsite, trying to figure out what our options were in case this turned into a major repair, ie. how to pay for it, how to get the family home in the mean time, etc.  I was major stressed out. A neighboring camper was struggling with their RV, with electrical problems, we got to talking, helping each other out. When it was apparent my car problem wasn't going to be resolved easily on site, the guy looked at me, and said, "Sometimes, you just gotta have faith."  I thought about this for a bit, and thought, this guy is absolutely right, we should have faith that things will usually work out OK. I relaxed a bit, and just figured, whatever happens happens, and somehow, it will hopefully all work out.

My wife found a trust worthy and thoughtfull mechanic in a nearby town. It turned out to be a relatively minor issue, which was fixed in one day, and didn't cost a fortune.

My wife had abdominal surgery last week, which was due to suspicious looking (pottentially malignant) ovaries. After the surgery, the GYN reported to me that there was a low probability of malignancy, but a final pathology report would let us know one way, or another. Late last week, we got the news, everthing checked out AOK. We've both been stressing pretty hard about this, not really saying to each other what we were thinking, but just hoping and having faith that everything would be OK. And, it is.

Sometimes, things don't work out OK, people suffer, and there are great injustices in the world. Bad things happen to good people. I sometimes struggle with this, in wondering how my Good God can allow these things to occur. I don't know. But I do know that on the balance, even with the bad stuff that life can bring, the good always seems to prevail over the bad.

It seems the same way with us... when one thing goes wrong, we can expect several more to follow.

So many of us on the board are experiencing tests of faith.

Glad you were able to get the washer.

You may want to check out yahoo groups and check for free cycle sites.  We have one locally and people post requests and free items and seems to be going great (kinda like craiglist).

If not maybe you can start one in your area, would be great to help others.

Here's info on freecycle and to search for one locally or how to start a group

I have to agree with Steve....what goes around comes around.

You and Andrea do so much for others and it's wonderful to hear of something good happening for your family.  :>

Acts 2:38 girl

OK, let me be clear on this - I DO NOT WANT MY FAITH TESTED!!  IT STINKS!!  :banghead:   However, recently we heard of a child that died, and I saw the strength that God had given that Mom, and still does, to keep on going, to not be bitter, etc.  I was doubting I'd have that kind of faith, which I really want.  So I was praying God would build it up!  A few weeks later, - " Let the trials begin"!!  To many to list, but being able to depend on God in every situation has brought a peace like no other!
Anyhow - I'm back off the pulpit now!

I should have been there to help carry the washing machine ! How did you fit it into the Jeep ?

Keep trusting God, if I didn't do that I do not know where I would be right now  :(  As he gives it all and takes all.

Firefyter-Emt

That Jeep is bigger than you think. 10 seconds and the back seat is out, The guy who gave it to me helped me carry it out the the Jeep, up into the back it went and I was on my way.. Now I just gotta get it into the cellar.. It is heavy!

Put some wood(2X4)  down the stairs (I do not know if the starirs make a turn or a 90 degree. And cover the wood with soem carpet, hard cloth whatever. Once you manage to bring it to the stairs, just slide it down(Of course be on the down side and hold it) That is the easiset way to bring them down the stairs.

Just manhandle it till the stairs, corner by corner, lift a feet one corner, and so on till it is inside. It willt ake like forever but it can be done.  I carried a  21cf  fridge that way into the house all by myself when we move here.  Knowing that you are a strong man, you can pull it off :):):)

Reminds me of one of my favorite bumper stickers...."God never gives us more than we can handle. Sometimes I just wish he didn't trust me so much!"

I would not mind if God just sent me camping right now with all the problems I am facing ........

I take it you have home problems still/again.. at least you had a nice week camping!

birol

Yeah it was a great week, actually 11 days ! I loved every minute of it and devoured it all I can :)

My wife was supposed to clean up the garage just a little bit so that it would be very easy to just move things around and put finally in. She did not touch one single item in the garage :( Well, actually she did, she dumped whatever she did not like in the house on top of the stuff there. I have been working on it since 7:30 am non stop ... I am just about to give up and say ok lets get legal action by the town going  :swear:  I mean, she had 11 days just to move some stuff .....

On another note, the Camry has 3,500 km's (2.3K miles) more on it now  ! I do not mind her driving around of course (Though beats me how she put on so many miles in such a  short amount of time, I do not think I put on so many miles on the Windstar and I drove a lot) What bugs me is, she did not tell me that she was planning to drive that much, and I did not take the car for oil change. it was past a hundred miles off the regular oil change interval, but I thought how much will she drive in 11 days ? Big mistake 2,300 miles in 11 days ! The oil looks slightly sludged when I opened the oil filler cap :( Hopefully it is nothing bad. No I did not tell her anything, what is done is done already .....

Now this is the best part, we had pizza's in the fridge (home made) which we forgot to take with us when we left for the rally. They are still there  :eyecrazy:

Sigh ....... whatever ....

That averages to 209 miles per day??? that seems lika a lot of driving.  I thought I drove a lot traveling to and from work (round trip pprox 50 miles).

Firefyter-Emt

PHFFFTTT.... Heck, I did 240 just yesterday for work..
