Myrtle Beach State Park

We just returned from a week at Myrtle Beach SP and loved every minute.  They have a couple of older bath houses that are ok but the newer ones are great.  The camp ground is shaded and has it's own beach.  I think there are around 350 sites.  Much better than the 1500 sites at Pirate Land or the 4000 sites at Ocean Lakes.  We can't wait to get back next year. :usflag:

Just got back from a week at Myrtle Beach State Park.  Some notes:

Ants, lotsa ants
They recommend shoes and flashlights at night because of the copperhead population.  Some copperheads were spotted while we were there, but with no incident.
Good shade on many sites. Nice size sites too.  We have gone there before, and will return again.  The bath houses were much better maintained then they were a few years ago.

We spent 5 days there in 2007 and 8 days there in July 2008.  Both years were great.  Beach is less crowded vs Ocean Lakes and other higher priced camp grounds.  Very basic full service camp ground with clean sites.  Will stay there again in the future.
