All,

After a long recovery of my home, and a very rainy season this year, I have decided to wait until spring for a Hybrid. Dealers are not willing to deal, lead time for delivery is in the 6-12 week period, and the warrenties have changed for the bad this year. I will wait, maybe buy a used one only year or two old. Does that sound reasonable?

Yeah, at this point, you might as well wait until January or February to start looking.  Even then, you should have a jump on others not yet thinking about camping and hopefully, the dealers will be slow enough that they will fight for your business.

Just keep in mind that if you buy a used camper, the original warranty will not transfer to you (in most cases).  Although, there may be an after-market extended warranty you could get.  That's what I got for my Durango at the end of the standard warranty.  It cost me half as much and I've already used it once without any hassles.  Here is ONE site that sells warranties: http://www.warrantyexperts.com/travel_trailer_coverage.htm

I bought mine used, a 1999 in 2001, barely used, still had the new smell... I got mine at Slicers on RT 13 near Wilmongton, it was this time of year too, they did deal with me. They also get any service from me that is needed.

If you have never been there, get on I 95 North, take DE RT. 1 by the Christiana Mall, head east/south. get into the left hand lane, stay there, pass rt 40, and Rt. 13 N takes off from the left, Slicers is about a quarter mile after the light, on the left, you will see campers.

Service is the first building, the Salesmen are in the second building, My salesman was Lonnie Steele (I still have his card in my rolodex.)
