Calling all So. Cal. Campers!  I know most of you camped over this summer, so where are the campground reviews in the California section?  I'm always looking for great places to visit.  This is a really neglected area of PUT and we need to do our part to add some reviews.  So give us the good, the bad, the ugly, and the downright nightmarish campgrounds you've been to.

CC - see my recent post about reviewing my vacation.  For my money - you cant beat silent valley near Idylwild - great campground - but you have to be a member or belong to ...rats I forgot which group - tis a five star in every way.  PS  we could consider it for a group camp in the spring.

also - mountain lakes in Lytle creek aint bad - and still close to everywhere san bernardino - ontario area is ok,

Are you refering to the "west" under campground review? I am new to this and would be happy to add a few but am unsure exactly where to put them.

                                         Thank you

Hi Tracy, yes she means under the West (campground area).  This is a neat section where campground reviews can be placed.  It is also a section where you can ask questions about specific campgrounds if you are heading out on vacation and need a campground suggestion.

Jacqui,

Thank you. I will post some soon.I hope this is not a breach of etiquette however I was wondering about Christmas at Cachuma. I saw in another message thread that everyone was sick. Did that refer to your family or other campers? What days are they held on? Do most members show for this event? Whom would I write to for details?
                                                          Thank you

Tracy,

For the last two years, "Cchristmas at Ccacchuma" startied the day after Christmas. It's a mini-rally attended by about 8-10 families. However, since Christmas is on a Saturday this year, it just doesn't work out for us. That doesn't mean someone else won't take up the cause and put this together.

You should watch the "Christmas at Cachuma" thread to see what it happening.

My husband Randy and I were the original Cachuma campers. We let everyone know that we were heading there and Christmas in Ccachuma was born. This has been a fun campout in the past. The park is a first come campground but usually in the winter time you don't have a problem getting a site.

As far as being sick it was just last year and my family. I came down with that nasty flu that was going around. It was just me sick so I figured that I could stay in bed at the campground just as well as at home. Unfortunately, I got worse and then my 2 year old started having symptons. It was HORRIBLE. So we ended up packing up and going to grandmas for a couple of days. Everyone else there had a blast from what I could see from the camper window. In fact we had as many families from NNC as we did So Cal. One downfall of that time of year is it is cold and you get rain sometimes. But that never stops us. Popup the EZ Ups and voila instant shelter. We have had some great rallies under an EZ Up especially when Sammyslave is the resident chef. Yum..

I am not sure about this years rally since we have moved up north and Scott and Georgeanne have other plans. But the NNC and SCC motto is plan it and they will come. Just pick a date and place and have fun.

Scott, there was no need to edit your post.  We all work on these rallies together.  That is what makes them so special.
