Promotion!

I haven't been around here much lately because I got a promotion at work. I am now the Lead Nurse Practitioner at my Cardiology practice. I have two pregnant nurses who will probably leave soon, and am already searching for a replacement for another nurse who had a baby in April. So...I'm shorthanded already. I inherited a hornet's nest.

Oh well...that's where I am if anyone misses me! (Although I subscribe by email to my favorite threads).

Larry, hope you find some good help. As one who's being kept alive by a good cardiac practice and spend more time than I really want to there I can understand where you're coming from. And as the ones of us in the "know" know it's the staff that makes the doctors look good.
 
If it means we have to miss you around here a little, we'll understand.

Now can I get some advise please ? Yesterday I removed the boosters of my rocket and replaced them with solid alcohol burners, do you think this might have anything to do with arithymic HB's I am having today ?

A common misconception in rocket surgery is that solid alcohol burners alone will cause arithymic HB's. It is NOT the burners themselves, but the type of alcohol. You cannot use pure ethanol in them, because you can't buy pure ethanol (You CAN make it yourself, however). "Pure" ethanol that is bought has a little methanol in it to keep one from drinking it.

Pure Methanol cannot be used as that will cause afterburner interruption because of the way methanol's exhaust moves through the engine.

My best advice is to use the cheapest gas station 87 octane gasoline in your alcohol burners. Lots less trouble.  :p

Larry, congrtulations on the promotion! :#   We're sorry it leaves you less time for us, but know that it is to the benefit of your patients.  And as Mike says,  good staff  is really a necessity for a cardiologist.

Sounds like personnel matters are taking up extra time and energy too.  Good luck with the search for replacements.

It probably means I'll lose some vacation time at the end of the year, because I will probably be filling in for the missing nurses!
