Hi,

I'm new to towing my pop up and had a question. My 86 rockwood had a weird 5 way connection that I couldn't find an adapter to convert to my vehicles 4 way. I'm left with an extra blue wire that seems to run to the electric fuse box in the camper. Would that wire be the auxillary power? Trailer doesn't have electric brakes. Can I run the lights off of my truck? I have a 2003 ford truck that also has a 7 way that I could adapt to. any help would be appreciated

Well, first of all, this thread probably should be in the fix-it section, but since you're probably not a paid member that may difficult to do!!

Are you sure the trailer doesn't have electric brakes? Usually, the brake wire is a blue wire. You only need four wires for the lights...

* Left turn/brake
* Right turn/brake
* Running lights
* Ground to chassis

Ground wire should be easy to find, it's likely to terminate against the trailer frame somewhere. The others you just apply power one at a time and take a look and see what comes on! If you apply power to ground it'll blow the fuse, but if you look for ground first then everything else is pretty easy to figure out!

Here's a place that may be helpful....  http://www.etrailer.com/faq/wiring.asp
I don't know if you can find or make an adapter for four to five, but I think if you put on a 7, you'd be ready for anything.

Good Luck
