I didn't know you were going.  Are you camping???  I hope you have a good trip. :)

How was your trip?  Did you camp? :)

aw738

I took my mom with me and we did camp. We left Friday morning at about 8:15 and got home at about 12:30 that night. We had a wonderful time just wish we could have stayed longer. With the price of gas as high as it is I won't be taking any trips that far unless the price drops.

How did you like the campground?  You have to tell me more, PLEASE. :eyecrazy:

All of the parks and the campground were great. The only thing was that the campground spaces were a bit close together, but I guess that is the way they have to be. For those of you that have been there before we were in the 200 loop up next to the settlement outpost just a short walk to the boat that goes to the Magic Kingdom. For anyone that does not like walking or crowds then Walt Disney World is not the place for you. Other than the Magic Kingdom we also visited EPCOT and Animal Kingdom. We didn't have time to visit MGM after all the time we spent in the other parks. One thing you will not see in any of the parks is trash. Someone is always picking up anything that is dropped. The campground is no exception. Someone is always cleaning, mowing or doing other maintance. A couple of days after we arrived someone in a site next to the showers left and in no time a "cast member" was hosing off the concrete pad at the campsite and after it dried then used a leaf blower to finnish clearing it off. The odd thing was that the only thing left on the site when the people left were a few leaves and some pine needles. I guess leaves and pine needles were not up the Disney standards. They provide house phones to get information and to report any problem that you may have. If there was one thing that Tim left off of his site about Fort Wilderness is to make sure you have all the supplies that you will need before you get to the campground. The closest Wal-Mart or any major grocery store that I could find is 15-20 miles away. :yikes:

I do have directions to the closest Publix on the site, but i will make sure it stands out with your warning.

Glad you had a great time!

I knew I should have saved your webpage about Fort Wilderness on my laptop so I could have taken it with me.

How does this sound:

QuoteThe meadows trading post has a small grocery section for emergency shopping.  While the prices are not totally outrageous, they are higher than local supermarkets. If possible I would suggest stopping at a local store (my favorite is the Florida chain Publix Supermarkets) on your way in as to go back out can be quite a drive.  If necessary stop again if you make any side trips off Disney property.  There are many other stores in the local area including Winn Dixie and Goodings (a bit high in prices).  The closest Publix I have found is Publix Regency Village Shopping Center.*
