Marcy, do you still have that big Ford van you towed your A-Liner with?  We may be upsizing our TV in the not-so-distant future and  I am wondering how big the engine on it is and what kind of gas  mileage you get when towing and what kind of tow limits it has.  It is the kind of thing I  am considering seriously...we've  always had great luck with our Ford vehicles (going back over 30 years)

I'm not sure ...was it black or an ugly tan?  I think  the one we are in now is the one we took to the first rally, which is what you'd of seen (we switched vans that summer).

The engine is a Triton V8  5.4 litre. We have the  factory tow package with  I think a limited slip dana  rear end.  Towing or not we average about 18 MPG, if the wind is blowing right close to 20. Of course that is towing here in MI without any major inclines. When we towed into the Mountains it did go down, but slightly. Can't remember to what tho. But that is towing a pop up, not a  TT. I imagine with a TT the mileage would drop.

If I recall right we can tow up to 6,500 lbs.

All that said we have the Club Wagon, not a conversion. Our old van was a conversion and we like the versatility & cargo space of the Club Wagon
 much more.

Thanks, Marcy--it was the "ugly" tan one ;) that I saw when we camped in MI but I remember  you were pleased with it.  Was it an E-150?  That's what we are considering and also not a conversion van since we'll need to haul pine bark and  peat moss, etc when we arent towing..
