Most forums develop severe hiccups when they start an "around the campfire" section because most people believe that it is a way to not have to stick to camping topics and rather just shoot out subjects they may discuss with friends around a fire type of thing.  Those subjects could range anywhere from treating diaper rash to political bashing.  If you've got An Around the Campfire forum, you have to expect some rocky conversations.  Nipping it in the bud if they start to get out of control is a way to control the chatter but not just because someone doesn't like what someone else said.  One can always just not read a post or opt to not respond if it isn't their cup of tea.

Remember...discretion is a good thing.  This forum is very tame compared to so many others.  Though trailer life did finally put a ban on political postings on their campfire section because some people were literally taking over the forum with their postings and were really getting nasty.  There's no place or excuse for that.  They were just using it as target practice to blast members who responded to their posts.  But The Campfire is a far different forum than General Rving, etc. so your going to get some very different subject contents!

Have patience all, and if the moderator chooses to cut out a thread, then so be it as long as it's within their own guidelines and not personal opinion.

Now...time to hunt for some more firewood to get a comfy fire going again.. :!

Some excellent points made by several people. However, I think we need to move on and talk about other things. Some of these discussions and posts could possibly lead, eventually, to more animosity. I don't want to lock this thread, as Charlie has HAD to do to several others. So, let's get back to positive campfire talk!
