Okay, this is extremely off topic, and I'm sorry.  I even put off posting it for a day, but almost everyone here is a parent or grandparent, and we've already shown how much we can change things in the past, so I need more outraged parent's voices.

I was in my local Hastings Book/Movie store a couple of days ago, and there is a magazine on the bottom shelf, uncovered, across from the comic books my son was looking at called Gay Times.

Please do NOT reply negatively to this post without looking up the October issue of the magazine and seeing the cover for yourself.  It depicts two men in skimpy underwear.  One is kissing the other's chest, and the other has his hand in the other man's underwear, pulling it slightly down.  There is a bit more, but I wasn't sure how to describe it on a family board.

It IS in it's correct place, and no one pulled a cover off of it - there was no cover to begin with.  The magazines behind it look the same.  The employees said there is nothing they can do.

This is explicit sex easily seen in the youngest children's eyesight.  From what I saw when I got the picture from the Gay Times website, this particular issue (October) is much more sexually explicit than the other issues it showed, but we can't let this become the norm.  And my views on homosexuality have nothing to do with this.  This was EXPLICIT SEX.

I have taken pictures of the magazine in the store, and I copied a picture of the October issue from the magazine's website.  First I sent the magazine cover picture with my concern.  Their response was how sorry they were and that the magazine must have had it's cover pulled off and a customer moved it as they don't put "those kind of magazines" where kids can readily see them.  I responded by saying it WAS in it's correct spot, and sent pictures of the magazine in the store and told them what the employees told me about not being able to do anything about it.

Scantily clad people and sexy poses have nothing on this magazine, and if we don't do something it's going to get worse.

The displaying of explicit sexual inuendo is regulated, I believe, by your local government.  The men's magazines have all had to have the covers hidden, at least in the areas where I have lived.  Check with your states attorney office for clarification and enforcement.  The gay lifestyle is becoming more public and the schools are discussing it, so the kids are not immune-teach your kids what you believe.

The magazine is totally innapropriate to be displayed to the general public.  I went to the web site to check it and I know I wouldn't want my son or a daughter if I had one to see it when they were looking at comic books.

This world is crazy.

ABSOLUTELY CRAZY!

Just for the record, I wouldn't want to see the same pose of a man & a woman on display where children could see it...so it's not a "gay" thing.  :)
