Have you had this problem?

Recently I noticed that some of the plastic molding on cabinets are "loosening" or coming off completely. The cabinets have not been exposed to any water and don't appear to be swelling.  I thought about using some type of wood glue to reattach.  I thought I should ask the "experts first though.  Thanking all in advance.

I had a slight swelling of the wood around the edges of my counters in my popup. I pulled the molding out and wiped all of the exposed wood with clear silicone and pressed the molding back into the groove. Whatever leaked out I let dry and trimmed it with a utility knife.
