Locking top hold down clamps

Does anyone know if there are special hasps for locking made to fit Coleman Popup campers for the clamps that hold the top to the trailer base when lowered. My camper was stolen and I am sure that access was gained just by getting a crank and cranking it up. It was recovered and I bought it back, but I want to make sure that I don't give somebody else a reason to think it is an easy target.
Thanks!

Yes there are.  My 1987 Coleman had one lockable latch.  If you go to a Fleetwood dealer they can order you one.:)

I needed a new one also, and actually just found it at my local RV place.

I've seen them on the internet too, but can't remember for sure which RV website it was.  I think they referred to it as a lock down with an eye.

These type latches are pretty well a standard generic item for most camper manufacturer's; they come with or without the locking hasp and I suppose the higher end model line-ups have the one with the lockable hasp. However, not that expensive and I've seen them in RV stores to dealer parts departments. The lockables are the same size as the non-lockables so that changing one for the other is no problem - just four screws involved.

I slip a padlock on mine when the unit is being stored so that it might discourage the amateur would-be thieves. When towing on the road I use one of those spring hinged quick links to ensure the latch is secured as a saftey for the front section of the roof not coming loose and I can look out my side view mirror and see the link is there!

You don't even have to remove any screws.  Just unscrew the "clamp" part of the latch from the rest of the unit.  The unscrew the "clamp with lock hole" part of the new latch and screw it onto the old threaded rod.  It only takes a few seconds to change it this way.:)

Hey ... I guess you could do it that way! Never noticed it that close as I already have the locking hasps on the front of my PU. Had simply noticed the whole catch assembly at the parts dept and saw that it attached with the four screws. Makes you wonder if you could just buy the hasp by itself ??
