Hi everyone,

We just found out we should be removing our battery and charging it periodically. We don't want to over charge the battery so we are looking for a battery that will charge and keep the charge at a certain level so it won't over charge. (hope this makes sense. I got info from my hubby)
Hope you cant help me out.

Living in San Diego, I don't see a need to ever remove it. Just buy a good Deep Cycle battery, charge it on a good 3 stage charger, as soon as you get home. Freshen it up again before you leave. And unhook it (disconnect the cable) somehow in between trips. Either install a switch, or physically disconnect the wire (or pull the fuse, at the battery).

As MtnCamper said a good 3 stage charger is essential.  I have been using a 6 amp charger from ChargePro for several years, you can order it from West Marine.  Make sure you top off your battery with distilled water after charging.  You should get many years of use from your battery with proper maintenance.

Thank you so much for the info. I will give it to my hubby.
