220 Electric at a campground????

I was looking at the campground map of French Creek SP in PA. Usually in PA the electric sites have a green circle if they are 50 am, and a green oval if they are 30 amp. On this campground map they had yellow hexagons for the electric sites. When I looked at the legend for the map it said "Electric Site-20, 30, 50 AMP & 110, 220 Volt". Has anyone seen 220 at a campground???

It may be to operate clothes dryers in a class a or a big 5er.

Any 50 amp service at a camp ground is 240 volts. The standards are 15/20 amps @ 120 volts. 30 amps @ 120 volts, and 50 amps @240 volts. People use 220 volt and 240 volt interchangabley. Years ago the standard was 110 volts and 220 volts.

Most large RV's using the 50 amp work just like a residential 240 volt service and divide the hot legs to provide two 50 amp @ 120 volt legs that can both be tapped for use.
Normally the second leg is used only for a second AC unit. Although newer high end coaches and TT's are coming with 240 volt washer dryers, cook tops, water heaters and ovens.

No it is not. The 30/50A adapter only uses one leg of the 50A provided which makes it 110V.
