I am new to this site and think that it is great. I purchased a used Jayco popup from a co-worker, I think I am the fourth owner. Nobody has any paper work telling me what year. I talked with Jayco and looked everywhere they suggested and could not find a tag for id. I need a wiring diagram to check out the inside lights and installing a battery. The unit has a 12v/110v panel but I do not know how to check. Sorry this is so long, any help would be appreciated.

I assume there is no title for this camper that would list the year and model?

Another way that could give you a rough estimate as to the year is check the date of manufacture on some of the appliance tags. (stove, electric converter, fridge, furnace, water pump, built in coolers just to name a few)

We used this trick in the past to determine the age of old houses, by looking at the date stamped on the underside of the toilet tank lid.

This might give a little clue as to when your unit was manufactured: I broke a leaf spring on my Starcraft and had to get the specs for a replacement and was directed by Starcraft to get the axle/spring information off a label which was on the axle itself (Dexter Axle). I noted that on the stamped aluminum label it gave the axle assembley info and the date it had been manufactured by Dexter which was the year before the camper itself was made. This should get you a ball park date as to when the camper was built and that should narrow the field down a tad.

As for the electrical diagrams, they are in the back of my owner's manual and I'm sure this manual was for many models being made for that particular time. I know for a fact if you needed a manual for an older Starcraft, they (Starcraft) will send you one and the last I heard at no cost. I should think Jayco would do likewise.
