just wondering...Kevin woke up with a really bad headache this morning and a slight fever....anyone else since we've been home...I think this is the first time this year he's missed school due to illness.  then of course Kara starts "coughing" and says she's too sick to go to school too.  "sorry already tried that one on  Grandma... now go to school"

TheViking

Oddly enough, Kristi tells me Ashlee stayed home from school today too.  She has more of an allergy type thing though.

Sorry to hear Kevin and Ashlee are under the weather :(   Griffin is fine and was raring to get to school this morning--they're "feet painting" today. :)

Yesterday when I got home from work, he came running up to me and said, "Mama, do you want to see my tattoos?"  Then he proudly pulled up his t-shirt where his entire belly and chest were covered with a mass of little blue lines from where they had been playing with stamps and ink pads.  Man, I wish I were back in preschool again! :D

I showed kara the pics from vail lake and when I got to the one with the Afro she said "that you  don't look right"  so I guess I need to cancel that appt. for a perm next week :eyecrazy:

To my camping buddies,
My virtual ears were burning so I thought I would find out what all this cyber-jabberwocky was all about.
1. Maybe I am a little verbose.
2. Maybe I did fall asleep by the fire but I had good enough sense to come in once it got cold.(Thanks for trying to wake me Ms. Dee)
3.Ok, I've been severed from my job, my dog died, and the only thing else that could happen is that I would get a flat tire on my truck (although I don't have a truck) and I could write a good country and western song.
4.I'm glad I could bring a little Kentucky joy "Bourbon" to the party.
5. Things were going smoothly until Lori became the bartender. When she came back with my glass and said she couldn't find the light in my VW pop-up, I knew we were going to-heck-in-a-handbasket. (Glug, glug) I'll leave the light on if we make it to Pismo.
6. I've been keeping my lint from the dryer and belly-button to use as a campfire starter.
7. B12 my foot-that's called a "hang under".
8.I'm am quite appreciative for the fun and getting to meet new campers.
9. Breakfast Rocked!
10. I had to leave too soon.Although I don't think I could have taken another evening like Friday night.
Jay "Coollou" Sabo
p.s. I miss "Jellybean"

Dee4j

hey Jay wasssssup?? welcome to the board.  it Looks like you learn alot in one night :yikes:
I'm glad you showed up ..I think you should give pismo a try. that way Dan will have someone to talk to  ;)   as far as the B12 never in a million years would I think that would happen...I take it all the time. I use to get it in shot form everyday.
Itried to wake you up..but just as I do with Dan if you ain't up by the third time TS
suffer...I'm going to bed.
Lori should stick to making margaritas..pouring Bourbon is too challenging ;)  :D
saving Dryer lint?? You did learn something...

Hope to see you in Pismo

Dee,
Lori told me to get a pair O' fins and melt them and pour them over the lint into egg carton crate compartments to get a bonus fire-starter. It's really hard to melt fins do you think she meant paraffin? If so, this could turn into a Cottage industry for me if only I lived in a Cottage.

I know people who make those...but I'm too lazy and cut to the chase  a big ol' wad of dyer lint coulpe of pieces of fat wood and you got fire....

Whats all this talk about dryer lint? Do you have to do anything to it first? I bought some fire starters at Walmart last week before our trip and they would not burn for anything. :banghead: Does anybody know who made those cute firestarters that were passed out last Halloween at Vail Lakse?

OC Campers

When my daughter was in girl scouts, we made firestarters out of old crayons and dryer lint.  We put the lint into paper egg cartons and then poured the melted crayons over the lint.  Let it harden and then just rip the egg carton apart and throw 1 or 2 in the fire.  It is amazing how combustable dryer lint is.

Dee,

This is a common mistake.  Someone will copy/paste the URL when adding pictures.  But this is a link that only you, as the album owner, can see.

For others to see the page, you need to go into your album as a regular user and post that link.

Here's the one to all your webshots:  http://community.webshots.com/user/dee4j

And the one to Vail Lakes:
