We'll be camping at Vail Lake Resort the weekend of April 15-17.  Anyone who wishes is welcome to join us.  We're in site 70 in Chardonnay Mesa and there were a number of sites still open in that area too.

Don't you want to William Heise with us?   :(

Dee4j

I'll ask Dan I think we may join you..I have to work Sunday but as long as I'm home by 1-2PM we'll be okay..

Azusateach: It looks like a cool place, but I have to work sundays and SD to far and I've gotten to be a REAL LAZY camper and want to be pampered with full hook-ups

see ya at Pismo..

Dee4j

Dan says Yes!!! I tried to make a res, but it's after 5 PM :banghead:
Dan has a race Sat am so he might not come up until Sat. Lunch time.

Do you know if 71 or 69 are open?

griffsmom

Whoo-hoo!!!!  71 is not available (that was my first choice) but 69 is. so is 73-75.

Azusateach--I would love to have camped with you all at Wm. Heis, but all the hook up sites were gone, and we're still a bit spoiled about dry camping.  DH is itching to get a generator, so we may try to do some dry camping in the summer, when the weather is warmer and we don't have to rely on the heater and television for our 4 y/o DS so much.  :)

I just sent someone a PM, thinking you were going to William Heise.  Oops!  I'll get this thing figured out some day (guess it's another sign of age...).  FYI -- I have a real nice Honda 2000EUi generator, so don't be chicken.  I'll share.   :D  AND a portable DVD player.  What else do you need for dry camping???

Let's see, drip coffee maker, ceramic heaters, margarita blender, tv/dvd player, toaster oven, DH's boom box....(let me know when you've heard enough ;) )

How do you like the Honda 2000EUi?  That's the one my DH has been drooling over.  At this point, it's what I call an "inevitablity".  He'll probably buy one by the start of summer.

Well, I've only used it once, and when I did the folks camped next to me in a monster 5th wheel were truly impressed with how quiet it was.  I'm impressed that I can actually pick it up & move it -- it's about 55 lbs. -- so I don't move it too far, but it's nice.  Real easy to start, only takes 1 gal. of gas & is supposed to run for 10+ hours on that.  I used it for my 700 watt microwave & it worked just fine.  It's kind of like a security blanket for me, in case I don't want to cook the old-fashioned way, or my battery needs to be charged.  I was able to get a good deal on one by showing the store a flier I got at the Pomona RV show.  Out the door, with a gas can, it cost me about $1025.  That was about $125 off what they were selling them for in the store.  Not cheap, but good insurance for camping -- AND electricity at home.

This is probably more than you wanted to know.  But it's late, I'm tired, and it's easier to sit here than get up & go to bed.   :o

Let me know if you want more!  (LOL)

Once I mention this "development" to my DH, I'm sure he'll want me to pump you for all kinds of info! He's sawing logs now though so it'll have to wait until morning.  Can you tell who the night owl is at our house?  Having a child cured me of the former 8-10 hours of sleep I used to need BG*

...ability to dump potty and grey water with a pull of a lever, no worries that my DD is playing in the bathroom sink...long showers..
okay I'll stop..I have done my share of dry camping which started out in the back of my pickem up truck, now I'm getting old and lazy and I don't want to work at anything..

wee hours of the morning???? it's not even midnight yet...wee hours is when I was posting at 4 am and then again by 8:05..no wonder I'm so tired :eyecrazy:  not to mention I BBQ'd 150 burgers today...which I really enjoyed, I find it quite relaxing. and It makes you feel good when the kids like it. Kevin said it was even better than Burger King.. I think i must get some ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ

griffsmom

I only said "wee hours" for the benefit of all the sleepyheads who are in bed right now. Wee hours don't start for me until about 2:00 a.m.

I may not have a kid, but I've got a 70 lb. dog who can tell time & won't let me sleep a minute past 7:00.  But I AM a good napper ... :)

Frankly, I don't want to miss anything here & can't tear myself away!
