It seems like we are generating a fair amount of interest in starting an Arizona Pop-up Camping Club. I have a few proposals to float for comment to see if we can agree on a name and perhaps an initial rally site.

How about "AZ-U-R Pop-up Camping Club" for a name?

I was searching Reserve America for a possible group site for a summer rally and found an opening at Canyon Point for the Fourth of July weekend. I put a hold on a reservation for the Large Group (LG) site there for three nights, July 1-4. It was the last available site in the campground for that weekend. There are no hook-ups at that site, but it is a beautiful campground with lots of pine trees and nearby lakes. Here is the link with campground information

Give me some feedback on what you think about the name and also how many people might be interested in getting together for a "4th on the Rim Rally at Canyon Point".

Quote from: maromeoWe tried and had a group a couple years ago but people either moved to bigger units or moved in general. We still camp with one of the old members as often as we can. You are right there does need to be a group and ring leader. DH and I are also in our 40's. We just camped at Lake Pleasant this past weekend and almost got blown away but we made it through. Maybe we can get one started again. Let me know.

Hi all,

Since I last wrote we bought a Travel Trailer so I don't know if we qualify to be in your group.  If so we would still like to meet everyone and take some trips.  We are going to Roosevelt Lake for Memorial day weekend if anyone is interested.  Let us know.

Happy Camping,
Maria

AZ-U-R means everyone is welcome. Which area of Roosevelt, is there a reservation system or is it first come first serve?

I don't think the fact that you upgraded to a TT makes any difference.  Just means more people will use your potty.  LOL  Some of the members have Hybrids, which aren't really Pop-Up's either, they are more of a Pop-Out kinda thing.

It is first come first serve.  We go to Roosevelt Lake because we also have a boat.  We went last Labor Day and the sites were nice and fairly large.  There is no hook-ups but we don't mind.  If you want to get the groups input on this maybe we can get a trip going.

Thanks
Happy Camping,
Maria

Hi All -

Was a member several years ago, but a major out of state move put all forums on all for a while.  My husband and I have two very active boys ages 5 & 10.

We currently own a  1992 Jayco Jay Cardinal 6 pop up, but may be purchasing a 22' Hi-Lo soon, so I guess either way, we'd qualify, right?

Would love to find out more info about this new club and meet other families that enjoy camping & relaxing.
