I just bought my first fold down camper...  a 1989 Coleman Sun Valley.  If you're not familiar with this model, it has an aluminum roof with plastic "caps" covering the ends.  I think they are cosmetic, however both of mine have large cracks in them.  Does anyone know where I can get them, how difficult they are to replace, and what other hidden problems may be present?

Thanksfor your help in advance.

The only place to get new ones is from a Fleetwood Folding Camper dealer.  I don't know how hard they would be to install, but Fleetwood doesn't sell parts except through their dealer network.:)

THat's what I'm finding out...  I'll check with them if I can ever get ahold of them!  Having problems with them answering their phone.

If it's the same as my 81 Coleman, those caps are not cosmetic. They cover the corner gaps. They just unscrew and screw back in.

You might be able to use a sealer on them to repair them, but if you can score a set of new ones, even better!

yeah...  I'm not too sure how "cosmetic" they actually are, but I'm thinking it's different from your '81.  On my parents' '82 Chesapeake, the caps cover only the corners.  This one runs the full width of the camper (covers the whole end of the roof).  I finally got ahold of the dealer and they're in the process of checking on the price for me.

Thanks for your help and input!
