I know April showers bring May flowers.... but this is INSANE !!!!!!

I thought I would take a ride down to our Susquehanna riverfront campsite outside Danville to see what needed done before camping season. The water is normaly about 15 feet below the campsite. Yesterday afternoon it was 2 feet away and rising fast.

Instead, I spent the day helping my buddy (who owns the campsite and lives next door) empty his house out. Had to hustle as the water rose. Got the whole 1st floor, boats, docks, vehicles and several truckloads out just in time.

By noon today he had 2 feet in the house and will see another 4-6 feet by tomorrow.

By morning, where we put the PU will be over the camper roofline. Sure glad I have it up here on the mountain.

Yep...after yet another weekend of downpours and flooding, DH said if the sun doesn't shine soon he's gonna sell the PU and buy a boat!  ;>

I sympathize, MTNDAVE. Yesterday the DW and I drove north through PA up route 15. The river was flooded all right! I never saw so much water. It made me really sad for all you people who have property and "stuff" stored along its banks. We saw numerous trailers and canoes floating downstream.

we are up on 206 north just before Milford Pa. i'm glad our seasonal site is on the higher ground. the water is streaming down the mountain, our site looks like a big stream, it will take a while to dry out if the rain ever stops. more on the way for the weekend:eyecrazy:

Man,

You all in NJ and PA are just being hammered with all types of bad weather.

Hope it gets to dry out real soon for you all, and hopefully with a minimal amount of property damage.
