Has anyone camped at Daingerfield State park in North East Texas? This CG was recommended to me by a friend who stated it's beauty is in the fact that it is not well known or crowded.  So far, they are right about the "it's not well known part. I cannot find anyone else who has been there. If you have and can give me a review. I would appreciate it.

Hey Hikerdude ~ welcome to PUT!!

I have not camped at Daingerfield, but I have heard some great things about it too.  The North Texas Camping Association  (formerly known as the North Texas Pop Up Camping Association) has camped there several times.  They have lots of pictures on their website.

Hope this helps.   Happy Camping.

Dangerfield is a great smaller park.  The lake and spring woods are budded out this time of year.  Favorite sites for us would be 17 and 20 with 18 and 19 great also.  This is a beautiful smaller lake and a great place for canoes and kayaks.  We are scheduled to do a dutch oven cooking demonstration up there sometime this summer.  If you have been to Tyler SP and liked it ,you will like Dangerfield.

Hikerdude,

Daingerfield is one of my favorite campgrounds. It has a small lake, that is not overrun by motorboats. It is very shady and beautiful.
My wife and I like to fish from the fishing pier or rent a canoe for fishing.
It is quiet and serene.
