Hello from beautiful Nashville!

Hey everyone!  I'm in Nashville for an adoption conference this week.  I have been here once before 2 years ago and Dave was able to join me for that one.  Unfortunately, I had to leave my boys at home for this one, and I know that Dave would have loved to come back with me.  I guess we'll just have to get out this way again sometime.
 
I love this town!  The people (at least all the ones I have met here) are so nice, and it is amazing to see all the trees when you're flying in! The only bad part about flying east for me is that my internal clock would have me going to bed when the sun is rising!  I already believe that coffee is the third sacrement, but it is even more of a necessity for me when I'm east of the I-5. :morning:
 
Well, I'm off to get me little bbq (IMHO, it's a crime not to eat the food for which a place is famous) and maybe even see if :theking: is still in the building.

I'd be happy to Kev. I just hope that Larry isn't going to try to back out by making some sort of lame excuse about how he was just making an observation as a "PUT Member-at-Large" and wasn't acting as a super moderator when he made the prize offer.

Welcome to Nashville!

You picked a great week to come.  Last week it was unseasonably cold!  While you are here, you simply must have breakfast at Loveless Cafe, have lunch at Ham n' Goody's (have a iced teacake, they are fabulous!), and have dinner at Monell's.  I could go on and on about places to eat, but these are 3 of my favorites.  Anyone can tell you where they are.  I hope that you have a great time , and if you need anything while you are here, post a message on the board and I'll be glad to help if I can.

Thanks for the recommendations and the gracious offer of help!  You (and everyone else I've met here) at the epitome of southern hospitality!
 
I was in town 2 years ago and during my stay was able to eat at both the Loveless and Monell's.  They are a couple of favorites of mine as well.  I have not heard of Ham n Goody's.  Is it within walking distance of the Renaissance Hotel in downtown?  If so, I'd like to give it a go for tomorrow's lunch.  Tonight, I think we're going to the Stock Yard, where I ate last time I was here too.  Good thing I went easy on lunch!

Get Out!!!!!!!  You work at the Renaissance???  How cool is that!!!!  I'm with the American Association of Adoption Attorneys conference and will be exhibiting all day on the second floor except when I'm attending a couple of lectures.  I will absolutely try to give you a call if I can; otherwise, feel free to stop by my table and say hey if you can break away from work for a minute or two!!!  I'm with Nightlight Christian Adoptions.

Jan, I am so glad that you were able to stop by and chat for "a minute or two" Meeting you only confirms for me once again how these message boards are more than just a place to posts info and questions about pop up camping, but also a wonderful way to meet genuinely nice people!
 
Kelly, Jan and I have decided that now, both you and she will have to drive out for the Poppin at Pismo rally next summer!! Oh yeah, and bring the banshees recipe with you.
